Default I hated this show.

Hola!

I really could not stand this show very much. To me it was depressing and unfunny. First, there is Al, who has a job that he hates, working for nothing in a woman's shoe store in a mall, who was a former football star in high school. The wife Peg, who stays at home, doesn't do any housework, eats bons bons and watches TV all day. From the slut daughter who is a slut because she is from an unloving home, to the unfunny younger brother who is ridiculed by the slut, and is a total failure with women. To the bi-polar neighbor Marcy and her two husbands (I liked the husbands), one who left her and the other Ted McGinley, the "sitcom killer".

I never quite understood why Al did not want to have sex with Peg. I would have done her sideways. To me, this family dynamic was totally unloving and uncaring towards each other, and yet made a farce out of the whole situation. I just thought it blew chunks.

I hated this show, too. It's hard to believe that Peg is the same woman who was so likable in "8 Simple Rules". I was very glad when MWC went off the air.

Most of these things you mention were jokes on the show you can't take it seriously. You need a hug bro.

I agree, it just makes me depressed and frustrated. I guess everyone has a unique sense of humor.

I was still a kid when this was on the first time, and I wasn't allowed to watch it. As I grew up, I caught a few episodes here and there, but I never cared for it. It just never appealed to me, but to each his own.

I think this was a great show. I loved it as a kid, though I felt sorry for them most of the time. Al Bundy was a man's man. You could laugh and cheer at the things he would say. The Bundys loved eachother, they just didn't like to show it all (or most of) the time. Afterall, they were Not The Cosbys, lol (That was the working title).

It's certainly not a show for everybody. But it's a show for me.

That was the first show I watched when I finally got the Fox Network. I loved it right from the start.

During it's second season (1987-88), I was starting Kindgarten. So I was too young to watch it. However, when I was in the fourth grade, I believe that's when I started watching it with my older sister. That was in 1991-1992. So I started with Jefferson as Marcy's husband. I remember seeing the pilot and asking my dad who that guy (Steve) with Marcy was. When he said that he was her first husband, I assumed it was just for the pilot, lol. Funny I remember that moment in my life. I remember watching the reruns of the first six seasons with my sister. I prefered the Steve episodes. I quit watching the show mid way through it's seventh season. However, after highschool (I graduated in 2000), I got to watch reruns on FX. So I got caught up on the later years.

I just wish the DVDs would do this show justice. But replacing the theme song and have some edits to certain episodes and no bonus features past the first two sets sucks.

Also, for being the show that put FOX on the map, they were wrong to end it the way they did. They should have given it a proper send off, not just some season finale built up in the commercials as the wedding finale.

It makes me wonder if, in the end of The Simpsons, FOX will give it the shaft and just cancel it without a proper ending from Groening.

Well its supposed to be taken as a joke. Plus, if you've been married for a long time to the same woman you just get tired and I think this is what happened to Al.

What makes MWC a truly great show is that it was different than any other sitcom. They never said I love you, they were poor, everybody hated them, and it almost always had an animated feel to it...how could you not love it.

I understand that opinions differ, but whats the point of telling fans of a show[Married With Children] that you dislike the show?

Yeah, I'm partially to blame because I kind of started it. I would hate to read the Seinfeld boards and see all these posts from people who hate the show, so I totally see your point.
