It has been seven years now. May we never forget that fateful day.

Rest In Peace to all everybody that lost their lives- people on the planes, brave people, the brave firemen. I think we all need to watch Rescue Me and appreciate how much the firefighters do and have done for us, if nobody realizes. I think this is a day where we all need to put aside the drama, fighting and arguing and unite. Even if it is 7 years later, history is still apart of us.

I count the falling tears, they fall before my eyes. Seems like a thousand years, since we broke the ties. RIP

I will never forget driving to work on 9-11-01 and sitting in traffic. One of my favorite Amy Grant songs was playing "I will Remember You". In what was a very strange occurrence, the radio station interrupted the song to air a report about a plane crashing into the World Trade Center, and seconds later, a segment from Pres Bush about a possible terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. They never did go back to the song, but I will forever associate it with 9/11. Instead of putting up a flag to commemorate that horrible day, I make sure I play this song at least once. It has nothing to do with 9/11, but ironically the words seem to fit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9ETZGzE83U I was at work while all the chaos was going on (the towers falling, etc), so I wasn't able to see anything (no TV). On my lunch break; out of pure curiosity, I walked across the street to a Kmart and was able to watch a little of it on TV. However the picture was so bad that it was hard to make out anything. It really hit me when I was driving home that night. There is a big sign that welcomes people to our town and a big flag pole. The flag had been lowered to half-staff and that's when I started crying... I went up in the World Trade Center twice; once in 1982 and again in 1987. Nothing special but I'll never forget it. Then in 2004 (and 2005) I went to NYC again and went to the WT site. It was a somber feeling, although by that time it was more of a construction site. They had a nice memorial on a chain length fence with pictures and so forth. Across the street is a little church that had a bunch of quilts and artwork made by students to commemorate 9/11 as well. Very emotional and very touching. Andrea PS: I tried to upload some of my own pictures but I guess they are too big. But these are just as poignant. |

I've never been inside the WTC. I remember I was in 7th grade Science Class, I remember the teacher's name too and the occurence. We all stopped, the teachers got word of it but didn't tell us, imagine telling middle schoolers, we would of been so tramitized and scared. So we just continued on with our work. I remember lighting candles with friends & family numerous times all throughout that week and even during the 1 year anniversary. A day I will never forget.

I was in 7th grade at the time, and didn't find out until I got out of school, either...which was all the better because I probably would have been scared all day in school had I known. What a horrible day. Sad. There's flags outside my school today, one for each life that was lost. |

We had a moment of silence at school today. Most of the children don't remember it. I will never forget it. I pray they will never have to know the horror that happened here seven years ago today.

I was in 6th grade and class had just started. I had some hippie teacher at that time so we didn't really do anything too patriotic (heaven forbid
) instead we sat around in a circle and passed around a sacred "talking stick" and shared our feelings on violence.RIP everyone that was injured/killed or knew someone who was injured or killed on 911. God Bless. |

My Grandparents anniversary was that day...it would've been their 60th if my Grandfather was still around.

I was in seventh grade. There was something brief said about it, but I thought it was an accident. Not until I got home that I found out it was on purpose.
I'll never forget the people that lost their lives that day. |
