Default Alec Baldwin Blasts NBC, Scrubs And My Name is Earl

http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2...?currentPage=1

Baldwin's been pretty chatty lately, complaining to the New Yorker about NBC doing little to promote 30 Rock, instead focusing on Scrubs and My Name Is Earl. "Those shows are done! They're cooked!" he said.

I read about this the other day. Baldwin is such an ass.

My Name Is Earl creator Greg Garcia fired back with some words of his own:

"Maybe the reason enough people aren’t watching 30 Rock to make Mr. Baldwin happy is because Alec Baldwin is so unlikable as a person. 30 Rock is a really funny show. And Alec Baldwin is funny as long as someone else is writing his words. When left to his own devices, he sounds like a psychotic narcissist who whines about being rich for 8 pages in The New Yorker."

"Instead of blaming NBC, I think Alec should consider that some people in America may not want to watch a man who cusses out his own 11 year old daughter on a phone message, calling her a “rude thoughtless little pig.” It’s a shame that the people who produce such a funny show have to put up with such a distasteful man on a daily basis. It makes me thankful to have such a wonderful cast on My Name is Earl, a show that is still going strong and has helped bring an audience to 30 Rock over the last few years. You’re welcome, Alec.

"Oh, and the reason NBC occasionally puts on an hour-long episode of Earl is because an hour of Earl gets better ratings than an Earl followed by a 30 Rock. It’s called math, stupid."

Good for you Greg. Don't take any crap from anyone.

Wow, that were some pretty strong words for Alec. I like 30 Rock better than 'Earl', but I see Garcia's frustrations. It isn't good business to knock a sister show.

It's wrong to badmouth other shows, especially if you share the same network. 30 Rock is not being mishandled by NBC.

Baldwin is his own worst enemy. I would be surprized if he makes it to another season of 30 Rock.

I don't think he would be replaced, doesn't Lorne Michaels EP that show? Michaels loves Baldwin.

He can never be replaced. He makes that show. But unfortunatly, he's a big jerk when off camera.

Oh No

30 Rock must be doing something right. I haven't seen Jerry Seinfeld make any appearances on "My Name is Earl"....

... Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Alec Baldwin better quit while he's ahead. Like others mentioned, it's not a good idea to bad mouth your own network. That would be like me writing an editorial for the Seattle Times about the company I work for (and it's a very well-known company at that!)!!

Andrea

PS: BTW, I'm not bad-mouthing "Earl". In fact, I've never even seen it! Just stating a fact about Jerry Seinfeld.
