Okay... so here is something really lame I worked on last night because I wasn't feeling serious enough to actually write. It's a parody of John Lennon's Imagine; please understand I love Lennon and the song and it's not suppossed to be a mockery in any way.

I got this idea a long while back when lm mentioned GI poetry... eh, kind of along those lines.

Imagine (there’s no Gilligan’s Island)

Imagine there’s no Gilligan
No Coconut cream pie
No Skipper to yell at us
No Professor telling us why.

Imagine all the viewers
Tuning in today

Imagine there’s no lagoon.
It’s really hard to do.
No reason to be rescued
And no annoying guest stars too

Imagine all the luggage, Lovey wouldn’t take

You may say I’m obsessed, but I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll watch it
And TV might have some fun

Imagine no Mr. Howell
Putting down the Yale Man
No need for debate over
Ginger or MaryAnn?

Imagine all the networks, loosing their laugh-tracks

You may say I’m obsessed, but I’m not the only one.
I hope someday you’ll watch it
And you’ll realize Gilligan is the one…

Thanks guys!! I have a few other GI parodies I'm working on such as "The Ballad of Ginger and MaryAnn" (parody of "The Ballad of John and Yoko- The Beatles) as would be told by Mrs. Howell's point of view. But who knows when I'll finish the nonsense!

As always, I'm am open to suggestions. I love writing song parodies so if you have any GI related ideas, be sure to share!!!
