When I was listening to Sylvester Stallone's voice coming out of a superhero, it reminded me that the last time I talked to Frank Miller he said that he would love to cast the Italian Stallion as the battered and aging Batman in a film adaptation of "The Dark Knight Returns." "Just that mouth of his, the scowl and the way it would look in a mask," Miller said. "I loved 'Rocky Balboa.' This wounded warrior, that's what Batman is in 'Dark Knight Returns.' "

The Dark Knight Returns would make a fantastic film. Over the years my friends and I have batted around casting ideas.

I always thought Kurt Russell or Harrison Ford would have been cool.

Recently I came up with an idea.

Chris Nolan and Christian Bale should reunite 10 or 15 years after their final Batman movie and make Dark Knight Returns. Bale would be close to the right age to play a retired Batman.

Actualy, I could.

Warner Brothers on the other hand. won't wait. They'll want to run the franchise into the ground as quickly as possible.

I hear ya, I just don't think Nolan or Bale would agree to such a thing so many years down the line. Maybe they can sneak in a fineprint clause in their Batman 3 contracts.
