Lightbulb Fan Fiction Board

I have a small "rant" I guess about the fan fiction board. I noticed that there are sections for some shows but not all of them. I can understand that not everyone writes fan fiction for every show, but when I look in the main section, it makes me trying to figure out which story goes to which show! I noticed that the Facts of Life fan fiction board is continuously busy, which is great. It's just that I'm not a big fan of any of the shows that have their own board on that site. I like reading fan fiction about shows that are my favorites, like "Monk" or "Full House" because I can "relate" to them more, if that makes any sense!

However, last week I posted a very long (and I admit that I got very carried away when writing it!) OLTL fan fiction that I had written a few years ago. I was hoping that OLTL fans would want to read it, but it's kind of gotten lost because there's no soap thread (or OLTL thread for that matter).
It didn't occur to me to put it in the soap thread, because it took me literally forever to post it on this site.

And I'm almost finished with another story for another popular sitcom (I'm sure you can all guess which one!), but I'm going to post it on that particular board. I figure people who frequent that section will appreciate it more.

I'd love to read the other fan fiction stories because I've read some great ones at fanfiction.net (and I've posted seven stories over there as well!), so I'm sure that the ones posted here will be equally as good (if not better!)!!!!! Plus, I've noticed that the fanfiction.net site isn't very user-friendly!

Thanks for listening!

Andrea

We have a General Fan Fiction section which has a decent number of posts. There's obviously not enough demand to add individual boards for every fan fiction story. You could cross post it on both the General Fan Fiction and invididual show board if there is no fan fiction section for it.

I never thought about posting on both sections, but I may just do that. I understand about there not being enough demand for individual boards, though.
Here's another idea... what about doing general sections, like 50's, 60's, etc and then people could put stories from, say "The Cosby Show" in the 80's section, etc. I think it would make them more easy to find.

or seeing as every show has its own board, how's about each show has its own fan fiction thread? likewise, diff'rent strokes fanfics in the diff'rent strokes board in the 1980s section and seinfeld fics in the seinfeld board?

btw, great idea, andrea!

Thanks! That's what I was thinking, but it might be too much work. However, that was my original idea.

I don't understand the General Fan Fiction board because what gets posted aren't really fan fiction stories but rather sitcom proposals. It should really be turned into a fantasy sitcom game board instead, which wouldn't be such a bad idea and I'd participate in it.

I've noticed that as well. It would be nice to separate the two because personally I'd rather read stories instead of sitcom proposals.
