Eric McCormack Auctioning Will & Grace Porsche - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Will & Grace fans, rev up your wallets: Eric McCormack is auctioning the Porsche he received during his hit show for a good cause.

The auction of the silver Porsche – starting bid: $23,100 – will benefit Project Angel Food, a meal-delivery charity serving people with AIDS and other debilitating illnesses.

The actor was gifted with the 1999 sports car (current mileage: 25,000) by NBC after Will & Grace's successful first season. Costars Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally also received Porsches from the series' producers.

"It's not just a part of Will & Grace lore – this car is a part of television lore," says McCormack, adding, "there's somebody out there that would really appreciate knowing it was the car I drove every day to the lot."

The online auction, available at charityfolks.com, ends at 3:15 PM EST Friday. Its current asking price "is incredibly close to the car's actual Blue Book value!" notes McCormack. "Not a bad price to get a car and a piece of TV history."

And if a lucky Los Angeles native wants the car? "If the winner lives in L.A., I'll drive it to them personally," he says. "And of course, I'll autograph DVDs of Will & Grace."

That's wonderful! And wow, $23,100? I have no idea how much Porches cost, but it seems like a great price. I thought they cost a lot more than that! But I drive a Toyota Echo, so what do I know?!

That's awesome that he'll drive the car to the winner's house! Very cool!

While we are on the topic of what types of cars we drive, I figure that I may as well get my two cents in and say that I drive a 2000 Saturn Station Wagon. It serves my purposes pretty decently!

That's cool! But sorry I got

for a minute there! Saturn's seem like they are pretty good cars! I used to have a Geo Metro (Chevrolet) and I was so mad when they discontinued them! And now they've discontinued the Toyota Echo's as well!

I must be bad luck or something!
