Question Swingtown: How will they pair up?

How do you think the characters will pair up in the last episode?

I think Tom & Trina will stay paired up but I'm not so sure about the others. It's looking like Bruce & Melinda may pair up as well as Susan & Roger. Who will pair up with who for the last episode, in your opinion?

I think I want the characters to stay the way they were in the beginning - Janet and Roger, Bruce and Susan, Tom and Trina - just to give the show more closure.

But, it could work out like this - Susan and Roger (which I also kind of want to see happen), Bruce and Melinda (or Bruce on his own), Tom and Trina, and either Janet as a single working housewife, or possibly with that guy from her work (which could be interesting).

^ It would be nice if they ended up with their original spouses but so much has happened between them that it might not happen.
I think its highly possible Susan & Roger could get together, she might even move away with him for his new job.
Janet seems to really love her new job, so she may let Roger leave without too much fuss and end up with her co-worker Henry.
And since Bruce & Melinda really have the hots for each other they could certainly end up paired together.

I think that's the way I see it happening. I don't think Roger's going to take the job, though, but I do think he and Susan will get together in the end. It'll probably end her friendship with Janet, but would she really care that much?-LOL. Janet already seems to me like the Mary Richards of 1976 - she's got a great job, already being promoted, and she's raising her kid. What does she need Roger for.

Susan and Roger will end up together. After finding out Janet will dump both of their behinds. Janet will go solo. I think work friend might play for the other team. Bruce will end up with Melinda initially, but then become a swinger. Tom and Trina will end up like how Bruce and Susan were in the pilot. Laurie will find out Doug is a louse and fly solo too and BJ will be in a love triangle with Sam and Rick, you know where both are in love with BJ.

I agree with basically everything you said. Not what I'd like to happen exactly, but probably what is going to happen. I think if does turn out like this, though, a second season would be like a whole new show. They'd probably turn the focus on Susan and Roger as a couple, with Tom and Trina and their baby and Janet in her new-found life.

^ All those predictions that both of you made would make for a great second season!

I think they'll all stay with who they're with. I see it more like Bruce and Susan were just experimenting and Janet and Roger just kind of getting out of their rut.

Well, it kind of happened the way I thought. I'm guessing Susan and Roger did end up together in the end, since Susan did go see Roger in his hotel room, and Bruce went to go see Melinda. I'm still not sure what exactly did and will happen in the future, though. Either Roger and Susan will stay together for good, and Bruce and Janet will be out of the loop, or something else will happen.

All in all, I was pretty happy with ther finale. It kind of got me wondering, and there were still a lot of things unresolved, probably more than there were in the beginning. You could tell the season finale was obviously set up to lead into a second season, and hopefully that's what will happen.

I thought the finale was kinda flat. I thought the satisfying cliffhanger wasn't really that satisfying. The kid stuff and the Tom and Trina stuff was good, but I thought the other stuff should have went farther in one direction or the other.

Susan and Roger came off like a couple of whining egotistical jerks to put it nicely. Susan was angry with Bruce who didn't sleep with Melinda(that surprised me) and who was actually honest with his feelings and she acted all hurt and angry when she wasn't having that connection with Bruce either and still fanning that flame with Roger. I hope they get a second season so Janet can kick the crap out of her "best friend". Since it was the season/series finale of the show they should have just had Susan/Roger do the deed. I also hope that Janet's work friend and his boyfriend open up a can on Roger too. That whole head of the family line Roger was feeding with you go where I go and then not going but calling Susan to meet him at a motel? The ending with Susan and Roger making googly eyes was kinda weak when the first show started with the implyed swinging they should have at least had a more powerful ending scene.

I kind of disagree - I loved the finale, definitely one of my favorite episodes of the first season. I thought Molly Parker was outstanding in this episode. Probably emmy-winning material she gave us there. You could tell she definitely dominated this episode, and at the end, when she did in fact go see Roger was a good way to end the SEASON, but not the series.

I do agree, though, that The finale was really unsatisfying, and it was definitely set up to lead into the second season. There's so much story left to be told, and I'd be upset if we don't get to hear it.

When a series does okay, not great in the ratings, to not end with a bang assumes a lot especially if a show doesn't come back. Roger and Susan doing it or at least post done it would have been something major that happened between the sextet outside of Trina being preggers. And I'm saying that as someone who hates this pairing as a couple. It seemed like any other episode to me. I just didn't feel it had the impact of a season finale. Not saying it was a bad episode, but I expected more from it than I felt I got.

^ It was a good episode but I agree the finale seemed more like a regular episode. It really needed something to jazz it up. That intervention by Gail's sister was also pretty good, would liked to have seen more kicking & screaming on Gail's part as she was being taken to re-hab. lol! It would have also been fun to have waited on revealing Henry's love life preferences so we could have seen Janet develope an interest in him. I also thought Bruce & Susan were acting pretty childish there at the end. Their kids act more mature than they do. But all in all it was a good episode, and I sure hope we get that second season.
