That's awesome, thanks...
And I do believe that's the exact date when I started 6th grade.

Looks much better than their current one I am sure. I bet that now they have shows from the last 15 years, stupid trash talk and court tv shows, and probably infomercials in the 3am to 8am block. Thanks for posting this classic schedule. Interesting that they aired "Please Don't Eat The Daisies". That is an obscure show.

I remember them airing Please Don't Eat The Daisies, never watched the show though. WFLD used to be a good Chicago station until they became part of the Fox network. When I was a kid, I used to watch the kiddie show BJ & Dirty Dragon. That show was a hoot. Bill Jackson (aka BJ) has a website dirtydragon.com with info about this show and other kiddie shows he used to host. WFLD also used to air the old Blondie movies and also Bomba The Jungle Boy, I taped those and they are part of my old movie library. I also remember the Keyfax Nite Owl service, it can be described as a newspaper in video format where you could catch up on the news, sports and weather. It was basically a more modern version of what WSNS channel 44 did in their infancy with the "instant news". WSNS was another great Chicago station until they went to all Spanish programming in 1979. They used to air some great old shows too, I remember they aired a show called Lafftime where they aired those great old comedy shorts with Edgar Kennedy. I also remember WSNS airing an obscure old game show with Wink Martindale called Can You Top This? For country music fans, The Porter Waggoner Show was aired. I remember watching F Troop on WSNS, and they also aired Combat! and 12 O'Clock High. WSNS also used to be the home for the Chicago White Sox games and they aired the Chicago Bulls games as well with announcers Andy Musser & Dick Gonski. And who could forget the great Bob Luce and his wrestling shows on the weekends? Great stuff with 70's wrestling legends like Nick Bockwinkle, Blackjack Mulligan & Lanza, Baron Von Rashke, Pepper Gomez, Vern Gagne, Dick The Bruiser & The Crusher, Wilbur Snyder, Moose Cholak, and my all time favorite Bobby Heenan. Heenan was a real hoot to watch, I have on audio tape a commercial he did for Southland Motors where he basically rips the place and talks about the inferior used cars they sold. It comes off like a 60 second stand up comic routine, Heenan does a slow burn during the thing and it is absolutely hilarious.
