Dear SO friends, I've been so busy at work--late Aug./early Sept. that I haven't been able to log on that much, once maybe twice a week at most, and I'm on the road commuting to and from work a total of 10 hours a week, so I'm pretty beat when I get home at night.
I only wanted to mention this in case any of you who knew about my wife's health problem last winter might be worrying why I haven't been on SO that much. Actually, my wife is doing fine, and much better than expected. The other reason for this thread is that I enjoy wishing people happy birthdays, and undoubtedly I've missed several, not having been posting much lately. If I have overlooked anyone, I apologize; no slight was intended on my part. I try to post on as many birthday threads as I can, even if it's a quick greeting. This, as you can imagine, is one of the busiest times of the year for my work (I teach). I just wanted you all to know that I am still here, and keep all of you in my thoughts, and will post as time allows. Gene

Hi Stranger! I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering how things are going. I'm glad things are working out for you! I too haven't posted much this summer because between camping and some family problems I really haven't had the time. So glad that you updated us as I know a lot of us care and are concerned for you. Happy Labor Day!

Hi Gene. I'm glad you updated everyone on you and your wife. As you know, I'm just thrilled that your wife is on the mend, and is recovering great. I can't imagine why a teacher would be so busy this time of year.
Seriously, you remind me of a High School teacher I had and adored. He taught us the curriculum, but taught us about life as well. Something tells me you do that as well.

Good luck, Gene.
I'm very happy to hear about your wife. I didn't know that you are a teacher. I repect teachers or anyone who works with students a great deal. I work with students and know how difficult it can be.

Thanks, guys, all of you, for your kind words and true friendship. It's funny, I never met you in person, yet I feel a strong connection with you. God bless you all!

Glad things are going well for you & your wife. That commute you mentioned sounds rough.
