"That's my Bush!" was a spoof of a family sitcom based on the life of President Bush; played by famous President Bush impressionist Timothy Bottoms.
The show was created by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and only aired for 8 episodes on Comedy Central. The show was not canceled due to low ratings but instead it was because the show was too expensive for Comedy Central to produce. "That's my Bush!" is still to date Comedy Central's most expensive program. The show came and went before 9/11. Perhaps this show would have never seen the light of day after 9/11, who knows. Anyway did you watch this program? |

I never saw it either but I do remember it getting quite a bit of press at the time. He really does look uncannily like the real GWB. Marcia Wallace (from The Bob Newhart Show and The Simpsons) was one of the co-stars. Timothy Bottoms is probably best known for his 1970s movie roles in The Last Picture Show, Paper Chase, Rollercoaster, and my favorite, The Other Side of the Mountain Part 2. Here are some pics I found of the show (and OSOM2):

It had its moments. I'd call it "stupidly funny", if that makes any sense.

I remember seeing it a few times and I thought it was funny. There was a neighbor would walk into the White House and Kristen Miller's character Princess was hilarious.

Hilarious show!!! Personally, I can't stand "South Park", but the writing on "That's My Bush" was great.
