Question Have you ever been to a Chiropractor?

Last week, at about 4am, I was watching a local tv show by my city's Chamber of Commerce. Tell me I wasn't desperate, lol. The guest was a Chiropractor. For some reason, I always had a negative opinion of that practice. Yet, this doctor just blew me away. It was if he was talking to me. He said that when he's with a patient, they're the most important person in the room. He said that MRIs, X-Rays and other tests are important, but what matters most to him is how the patient is living their daily life. I live mine in chronic pain.

This doctor has been in practice for 27 years. I'm seeing him next week for my spine and neck issues. I was fearful of having someone work on my neck, but I spoke to him on the phone, told him that I saw his interview, and he explained the process. There's a spinal stimulator machine involved, all sorts of things. He also told me that he also treats patients with Fibromyalgia. Those are my medical conditions. My neck/upper back and the Fibro. Best thing is my insurance covers it! Sorry, I didn't mean for this to be so long. I'm hoping that someone can tell me of their experiences with a Chiropractor, good or bad.

Quite a few people in my family have gone to them over the years and I've heard nothing but good things. I hope your visit turns out just as positive.

I go every 3 to 5 months to help with my Fibro.

Heh... the Google banner at the bottom of the page is showing me results for fibromyalgia and scar-free spine surgery. Just found that amusing.

Anyway.

I have apparently inherited back/neck problems from my dad's side of the family. I have no back problems, but I used to go to the chiropractor at least 1-2 times a year to get my back adjusted when I was a kid/teen. The last few chiropractor visits have been because I have neck problems now... They didn't really help, but then the pain went away on its own eventually ("eventually" = around a month).

I had to go to the chiropractor over two weeks ago (before I turned 23) because my neck was hurting so much. Mine helped make my neck not hurt so much, but I was still having pain after that. Before I went, though, it was so bad I wanted to cry. After the visit, the pain finally became a LOT more bearable.

I find them to be quacks. But if it works, use it. Hopefully it will work for you, Janice.

I hope the doctor can help you with your pain. It must be terrible to have to suffer with that! I've never been to a chiropractor before, but I've heard stories... both good and bad.

I'm thinking of asking my doctor if water therapy will work for my balance problems that are caused by my H.S.P.

I just had a appointment with one a month ago. I messed my lower back up and could hardly walk. After he adjusted me, two days later I was fine. I hope your visit goes well.
