Cool Has anyone ever thought of a snappy comeback when it was too late to say it?

Adam, your topic on coming up with good discussion ideas, only to forget them later made me think of this thread

I have a tendancy to think of good comebacks to rude comments long after the situation happened. One of my co-workers is a total bitch and has yelled at me several times over stupid things, like making her wait 30 seconds while I finish using the copy machine. I just ignore her and let her make an ass of herself in front of our other co-workers, but I always come up with something later on that I wish I had said to her like, "Sorry, I guess I should have started the copy machine 30 seconds earlier so you wouldn't have to wait."

OMG, story of my life. Especially when you get in an argument with someone, and you're so upset that you're at a loss for words...and then later you'll think of the perfect thing you could have said. So frustrating.

Do years later count?
I often wonder, if I had just opened my mouth then and said what I felt I needed to say, but couldn't at the time for a lack of words, would things be different? I know I'd sure feel a hell of a lot better!!! It just didn't come to me. I guess replaying a situation in your head over and over again helps to think of comebacks...at least in my case!!

Quite a lot. I rarely know what to say if anyone starts on me.
