Mackenzie Phillips has been busted at LAX for allegedly possessing heroin and cocaine. She's in custody right now.

At 10:00 AM, officers responded to Terminal 4, where 48-year-old Phillips was being screened by TSA. During the screening process, some baggies and balloons believed to contain heroin and cocaine were recovered.

The former "One Day at a Time" star has had a long history of drug abuse.

Thats really too bad, id hoped shed cleaned herself up for good...drugs are such a terrible scourge

That is awful to hear. I know she's been clean for so long, and even traveled for a while speaking at different schools about drug addiction. I met her once and she was such a sweet woman. I hope she's able to overcome this new addiction, however long it's been going on.

^ I know that I was completely stunned. She became a licensed counselor to help other drug addicted folks some time ago. I sure hope she gets help herself before it's too late.

i don't understand why anyone would try to sneak through airport security with drugs like that...

I thought the same thing. It seems suspicious to me. Who knows...maybe it was a cry for help and she wanted to be caught.

I was really sad when I read this earlier. She had been doing so well for years (at least it seemed that way.) I feel awful for her, and I hope she will be back on track soon.

I was really shocked and saddened to read this.

MacKenzie has been doing so well for so long that I was shocked to read this. I hope that MacKenzie gets the help that she needs and has a quick recovery.
