It’s been 12 years since Cuba Gooding Jr. jumped up and down on the big screen yelling “show me the money” in the movie "Jerry Maguire," but now a mobile game show promises to do the same thing. The first participation media show of its kind, “Show You the Money,” by Prizemo is about to launch. “We are bringing the music and entertainment industries together with their audiences in a community environment that is exciting, and fulfilling,” said Jakob Kuznicki, Prizemo’s CEO. “Everyone has a chance to win something through ‘Show You the Money.’ We are leveraging the participation media phenomenon in a new way in the U.S. for an audience that is passionate about music and popular culture, and wants to be rewarded for its passion.” Prizemo, a participation media company that develops interactive entertainment for online, mobile and T.V. audiences, is allowing players to win cash and prizes for correct answers to trivia questions by sending mobile text messages or by playing online. Viewers can also play, for free, at www. prizemo.com. Winners will be randomly selected and announced on a weekly basis during the game’s first phase. Starting Sept. 30, Prizemo will begin airing promotional spots on MTV, MTV2, VH-1 and BET. Celebrity hosts, including Saigon, Memphis Bleek, Unique, Talia Coles and others, will appear on-air with call-outs to viewers to text correct answers to questions using the short code 99799. Each mobile participant for “Show You the Money” will receive a free ringtone, or other mobile content, which can be redeemed at www.prizemo.com. Players are charged $.99 from all carriers for each text message. Players can text answers to receive ‘Prizemo Points’ that can be redeemed at the online store. The company is currently in discussions with major U.S. and international broadcast and cable outlets for syndication of “Show You the Money” as a daily, 15-minute show featuring celebrity hosts from the worlds of music, film, fashion, and sports. “By combining music, TV, trivia and prizes into a mobile game delivered by your favorite artist, Prizemo has created the ultimate interactive experience for consumers while providing a great vehicle for artist exposure,” said Jojo Brim, partner with Couture Music, and executive producer with Warner Music Group, who manages Talia Coles. Prizemo owns digital content rights for various artists and produces participation media properties for multiple outlets. The company was founded by Kuznicki as a vehicle for music licensing and promotion. Kuznicki, formerly the vice president of licensing for Jamba/Jamster, which helped popularize the direct-to-consumer mobile content business in the U.S., has established a partnership with Munich, Germany-based firm SEO Entertainment to develop interactive platforms for shows. Prizemo will also offer four separate, avatar-hosted games, including “The Red Zone,” a sports game, “The Fame Game,” a celebrity-themed quiz game, “Music Madness,” and the online version of “Show You the Money.” The games will rotate randomly online; players can play for free or can, additionally, text answers. Prizemo’s vice president of business development and marketing Anthony Rodol, formerly director of new media and mobile for Warner Music, helped develop leading TV-advertised music compilations for the label, as well as launching official mobile content from Donald Trump, Richard Pryor, and others. “We have discovered a well of pent-up demand for music artists to engage in a one-on-one interaction with their audiences; they can plug their projects during the on-air spots and further their visibility,” Rodol said. “The response from labels and artist managers has been tremendous; this is a new phase of the participation media phenomenon.” |
