TV Should Michael Richards be given another chance?

Okay, I really hope I don't end up starting a by posting this, but I've been thinking about this the last couple of days.

Yes, the incident that occurred with Michael Richard's ill fated comedy act is by now, but the only thing I've heard or read about him was when he appeared on Leno when Jerry Seinfeld encouraged him to appologize.

Now of course, I don't condone what he did. It was terrible, but I do believe that he was heckled and provoked. I'm sure all comedians have had that happen to them; even Jerry Seinfeld. I never really saw the video of what happened to Michael Richards, except what they showed on TV. However I don't think that all comedians are cut out for stand-up.

That being said, it's sad that Michael has a "reputation" now because he is such a wonderful actor. I've seen him in several things and not just Seinfeld. I'm wondering if the reason he hasn't been seen in a while is because people don't want to hire him. I can't imagine him taking this long to find a project otherwise. It would be sad if his talent were wasted.

Now I did read that he and his girlfriend were thinking about moving out of the country; to Tahiti, if I'm correct.

My opinion is that he should be given another chance. I mean, Jerry thought that what he did was terrible too (From what I'm gathering, anyway), but he encouraged his friend to go on national TV and apologize. Sadly, he was met with laughter, which made Jerry angry, but it was a good start.

I would love to see Michael in a new movie or TV series'; preferably a movie.

So what do you think? Is his career over or should he be given a second chance?

Andrea

It shouldn't be over but it probably will be. If you were producing a movie, wouldn't you want the publicity on the actual movie and not have Michael Richards garnering all the bad attention the entire time?

It really is unfortunate but I can't imagine people are jumping at the possibility of hiring him.

If Michael Richards sincerely meant his apology and realizes that what he said was hurtful to some people, then he does deserve a second chance. Why not? We're all human. We all say stupid things from time to time. But of course what he said was very bad and there's no excuse for it. Being heckled happens to every comedian----every comedian performs with some drunken, abrasive members present in the audience. So if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen---Being a stand-up comedian is a very difficult job, not everyone is cut out for it. If you're too sensitive to endure a few "boos" once in a while, then you're in the wrong line of work.

Don't we all deserve a 2nd chance when we screw up?

NOPE! lol.

I guess, it all depends on his attitude and his mentality.

Sorry but, i didnt find his apology at ALL sincere, that was all just his lawyer trying to save his career, admittedly, I never liked him to start with, but, this kind of put him over the top.

Well, I guess in a way he did get another chance, because he does have a part in "Bee Movie". I'd like to see him in something else; even a guest appearance. I can understand why people would have a problem seeing him in a major role, though.

Maybe I just miss Cosmo Kramer.....

Sigh....
