Default One noticeable thing about "The Jeffersons"

It didn't have the "applause after every character's entrance" syndrome other sitcoms had at the time!

That's true, and thank god - that annoyed the hell out of me. Like on Family Matters, in the later seasons, they always added audience applause whenever somebody walked into a room. You'd think that half the show was filled with the audience's applause-LOL

No, The Jeffersons didn't do this, as much. They did it a little; for example, with Mr. Bentley. A little sure beats constantly, which is enough to drive a person crazy.

Yeah, something like that actually worked for a show like Married with Children, but overall, I hated it.

I think I do remember the audience clapping for Bentley a few times, in the last 2 seasons when he came back to the show. But like you said, a few times is plenty.

Thank goodness!!! Too bad the Happy Days people didn't realize that a little of that stuff goes a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way.

And Family Matters - they did it a lot in the last seasons. Whenever somebody walked through the damn door they started clapping-LOL

I still think Happy Days was the worst offender in this category, but you've got a point with Family Matters.

No, you're probably right - Happy Days did it almost every episode, especially in the later seasons, I can almost assure you. I think most 70's sitcoms did this - why, I don't know

I just wish they would mute the sound on the DVDs so we don't have to hear the annoying crowd noises.
