Okay, I've written fanfic before but this is my first Divison one. I post some of my idea's before and I thought I'd use one.
This is set when Jinny was a kid. The Good Old Days “No! John, would you stop? You know Casey doesn’t like to fight.” fourteen year old Jinny yelled to her brother as she walked up the driveway of their house. “Jinny, stay out of this. He needs to learn to fight. Espically if he were wants to be a cop like dad.” John called back. “He’s eleven!” Jinny said with a laugh as she inserted her key into the lock of the front door. “It’s good to start early.” John smiled as he penned his younger brother to the ground. “Get off!” Casey yelled, trying not to laugh. Everyday, John would fight with Casey as they walked home from school and they always ended up the same way. Jinny would tell them to stop even as she walked away, John always won, and Casey just enjoyed the familiar feeling of comfort. Things never really changed and he liked it that way. He always knew what to expect. ******* Jinny smiled and shook her head as she entered the house and left her brothers rolling around in the grass. She dropped her books on the couch with a sigh and headed to the kitchen to find something to snack on until dinner. Her mother was great cook and always made a four star home cooked meal. Her father worked late most nights and couldn’t be home, but mom always saved a plate for him. After grabbing an apple and a coke from the fridge, Jinny headed back to the living room to gather up her books. “Casey, you’ve got to learn to fight. How else are you ever going to be about the defend yourself?” John said to Casey as the entered the house a little worse for wear. “I’ll try harder.” Casey replied with a smile and ran to his room. “He says that everyday.” John muttered as he laid his books on the coffee table and sat on the couch. Jinny smiled to herself as she left the room. ******** Jinny climbed the stairs to her own bedroom. She carefully opened the door and sat her stuff on the desk. Then she grabbed her apple and coke, turned on the radio and sat on her bed to relax. Casey entered his bedroom, closing the door behind him. He turn on the lamp next to his bed, then picked up the book he had been reading. Laying down on his bed he began were he had left off the day before. John sat in the living room flipping channels, trying to find something good to watch in the after school television programming. ****** The three kids did their usually activities, never concerned with where their parents were. Their father worked a lot and was often gone all day. Their mother stayed at home and took care of the house, but she was often shopping when they came home. The kids didn’t think anything of not having any one around...at least not for a couple of hours. ****** * A few hours later* “Hey, guys....have you seen mom?” Casey asked as he emerged from his room. It was starting to get late and he was hungry. “Nope.” John answered, not bothering to look up from the television screen. “I haven’t either.” Jinny said to her brother. “She should be home by now.” “Well, I’m starting to get hungry. Mom never forgets to tell us when she’s going to be gone for dinner.” Casey replied, started to worry. “John, try to call dad and see if he knows where mom is. Casey, check the fridge and kitchen to make sure she didn’t leave a note. I’ll check the bedroom and check her calendar.” Jinny ordered. Their mother always wrote down her plans on a calendar in her bedroom. She swore that if she didn’t she would go crazy. The three went off in seperate directions. ****** Casey scanned the papers stuck to the fridge with different magnets. Finding nothing he continued to the counter tops. No luck in locating a note, but he did find some cookies to snack on. ***** John waited as he was put through to his father’s phone at the police station. The operator had said that his father was out on call, but that he could leave a message. The recorder picked up and John left his message urging his father to call as soon as he could. ***** Jinny pushed open the door to her parent’s bedroom. Her mother kept the house in excellent shape, so Jinny was suprised to see clothes thrown all over the room. “Mom?” Jinny called, unsure of what to do. She slowly walked further into the room trying not to step on the objects in her way. As she got closer to the bed she noticed a gun on the bed. It wasn’t unusually to see guns in the house. Her father was a cop after all, but never had they just been left lying around. The next second Jinny noticed that the bedspread was a strange color. The original medium blue was almost black in some places. Jinny stared at the stains for a few seconds, then took a deep breath and began to walk to the other side of the room. As she rounded the bed, Jinny saw her mother’s body come into veiw. ******* Hope you like it so far... |

here's a little more:
Jinny didn’t remember screaming. Everything just seemed to stop as she saw her world collapsing. Her brothers rushed in, John grabbed Jinny trying ot shut her up...then saw his mother. He pushed Jinny towards Casey who was still standing on the other side of the room wondering what had caused his older sister to freak out. “Casey, just take Jinny to the living room and call 911. Don’t ask, just do it.” John ordered as he sat down next to his mother. Casey took Jinny by the arm and pulled her from the room, still on sure of the situation. Once in the living room he sat Jinny on the couch but she didn’t respond. It was starting to scare him. What could possibly make Jinny act this way? And why was he calling 911? But Casey did as his brother told him and before long a group of emergency vehicles were parked outside. The police rushed in saw Casey and Jinny then followed John’s voice to the bedroom. Next the paramedics entered with a stretcher. Casey sat back and watched the activity. Jinny was still of in la la land and John joined them on the couch after the paramedics kicked him out. ****** “Dad!” John called when he saw his father enter the house. “John, what’s going on?” his father asked. He had gotten a call on the police radio and upon hearing his address had rushed home. “Dad, mom’s hurt.” John answered. He knew his mother was dead, but he didn’t want to be the one to tell his father. “What? How?” his father frantically searched for answers. “I don’t know. The paramedics are in there now.” As soon as he finished his sentence the bedroom door opened and the paramedics, along with a few officers, came from the room with a body bag on the stretcher. John watched as his father shook his head in disbelief and ran to the stretcher. Not able to bare the heart breaking emotions of his father’s grief, John turned away. Only to see the realization of what had happen become clear in his younger brother’s eyes. John was unable to handle these new situations. What was he supposed to do? His mother was the strong one. She was the one that kept them sane. Every time there was a problem they could talk to her and she always knew what to do. John looked at his younger sister. Jinny hadn’t moved since Casey had taken her out of their parent’s bedroom and sat her down. Not able to deal with the stronger emotions, John headed for Jinny. He tried to be a response from her. He tried kindness, talked to her as if nothing had happen....then he slapped her. It was the only thing he could think to do. Before he knew it, Jinny was on top of him crying and fighting as hard as she could. Jinny had always been pretty strong. She had to be with two brothers, but John had still been able to beat her. Not today. With all the emotions running through her Jinny was able to fight her brother to the ground, and there he stayed until two officers were able to remove her. She was taken to the hospital and given a sedative, while John was checked out for damages. Casey stayed at the house and waited for his grandparents to show up. While his father, neither went to the hospital or stayed at the house. He was unable to go to the morgue after his wife and instead of dealing with his problems, he went to the bar. ************ Not quite done yet!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------ Nancy: I'm drawn to very flawed characters, because I have some many myself. ------------------ Tiffany Teddy: You all set for tomorrow night? Jinny: I have my bullet proof vest polished if that's what you mean. Teddy: Come on, Jinny. Jinny: Oh, yes. Actually... I bought a dress. Teddy: You did? Jinny: There is no guarantee, however, that I am going to wear it. Teddy: So, uh... I don't know. What else did you buy? Jinny: How do you know I bought you anything for your birthday? Maybe I plan on knitting you a sweater or... give you something much more organic. Teddy: Well, you do give good organic. Teddy: What's this dress look like anyway? Jinny: Oh, yeah, OK. Low cut, skin tight, animal print, ruffle at the bottom. Don't you have lawyering to do? Teddy: Be honest with me, not my parents! Jinny: All right, fine. You want honesty? Why don't you let me tell you a little bit about my family? See, I never really had a birthday party unless you wanna count my 15th, when my father showed up for cake, plastered in his underwear! Oh... yeah, by the way, my mom couldn't make it that year either because, well, sadly, six months earlier she blew her brains out!!!!! Teddy: Jinny, my God. Jinny: As for my brother, ugh... yeah, John... see, he just doesn't like you unless your American, white, and straight... and for me, a few weeks ago when I had that nut case after me... yeah, I had to make a little list, of all the guys that I've slept with in the last two years. I couldn't remember some of their names. Teddy: Stop. Jinny: Ya know what? This is who I am, this is my family!!!! Come on, it's your turn. Go ahead, flash that all-American, prep school, choir boy smile and you tell me that it doesn't matter! A day with Blair is like walking up San Juan Hill. okay this is a disclaimer of sorts...I'm not sure of anyone else's religion nor do I care, but I'm a christian and I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea by this next section...nothing too bad, but what people sometimes think when they're grieving. Anyway on with the story:
*********** John, Jinny, and Casey sat between their grandparents as the minister read passages from the bible and spoke of live and death. It didn’t mean much to them. They couldn’t see why their mother had done this to herself and to her family. Why had god allowed this to happen? They sat through the funeral in expressionless faces. It didn’t matter anymore. They hadn’t even seen their father in the four days since the ‘accident’ as everyone called it. He came home to sleep, then headed off to the bar, then came back home and slept it off. He wouldn’t talk to anyone. The one time Jinny had tried, he had thrown a lamp across the room. The grandparents said that he was just grieving and that it probably hurt him too much to see the kids. They must have reminded him too much of their mother. ****** John Sr. walked along the streets from the bar to the cemetery...he would have driven, but the bartender had taken away his keys. Now he was concentrating very hard to walk a straight line and not fall down. He had forgotten the funeral was today...he hadn’t really wanted to go anyway, but he figured he owed it to his wife at least. He walked slowly, with only a few minor slips. As he entered the graveyard he saw the gathering of loved ones by the grave. The minister was still going on and on about God and plans. John had always hated funerals, he didn’t find them comforting at all. If fact he usually spent the time trying who to be mad at...God, Satan, the person for dying, the person who caused the death, or the minister for trying to make it into some great thing. As he got closer, he got angry. What was his guy babbling about anyway? Before he knew it he was up by the preacher and with one casual movement throw the guy over the casket and just a few inches away from some grieving mourners. |
