Update: Despite of the dvd not mentioning it, there are edits:

In "The Norm Who Came for Dinner", the gang singing "Those Were the Days" is replaced by music when Frasier and Lilith are in bed in the middle of the night, and a few seconds of the gang singing it when Lilith walks downstairs and again when she leaves are missing.

A scene starts rather abruptly in "Get Your Kicks on Route 666" as well, when they're in the car the scene starts with Cliff mentioning that something must be wrong with the 8-track.. as if they had been singing before that.

"Monster Mash" is replaced with another song in "Bar Wars V"

On "An Old Fashioned Wedding," there is a part when Lilith finds out that the reverend dies, she's asked to sing at the wedding, they mute her after she says "a death at a wedding" (this is as she walks out the door, and I saw this in the syndicated episode a month ago. I don't know what she's singing as she walks out the door.)

"Make 'em laugh", although she only sings the first two lines I believe.

Found another edit. In "Bar Wars VI" Sam, Cliff, Carla and Norm all return from Gary's Olde Towne Tavern, and there is an extended laughter when the enter. Pay close attention and you can see Sam and Cliff's mouths move as if they were singing a song.

To quote myself from http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...d.php?t=231125

"There are a few more edits:

In "Bar Wars VI: This Time It's for Real" when the gang returns from Gary's for the first time, they originally sang.. something, the DVD just shows them enter silently. Only 3-4 seconds affected.

In "An Old-Fashioned Wedding, part 2", Lilith singing a few words from "Make 'em Laugh" is muted. Only a few seconds here too.. no video missing, it ruins her punchline "a dead body at a wedding is so appalling" though, as that line is followed by her walking into the guest room singing "make em laugh, make em laugh...""

Default Rebecca's Lover...Not

I watched season 10 About 5-6 episodes have edits. In Rebeccas's Lover...Not, there was a song cut. When Rebecca was talking to who she thought was her lover, she started singing something like, "I'm gonna wash that boy right out of my hair." Then he said, Personality. This part was edited. I remember this from the original and syndication. It was a sloppy edit the way it abruptly jumped to Phil talking.

Default about edits!

I am very opposed to all the edits from seasons 9-11. But I will own all the dvds since the release is still better than not having them. And they are still much better than the 22 min edited versions on tv. Plus, Cheers isn't on much in syndication anymore. But I might record some of the episodes on tv that have music edits on the dvd version and just save the songs on tape. This way I can play the songs when I play the episodes. This is an idea that hopefully will help ease some of the pain with the edits. Happy New Year All! Cheers to season 11 on Jan 27, 2009!
