I just checked over my own work on the thread titled "Liz". So far, it had seven views and so I guess that mine made eight. I was a little bit surprised that, given the number of days that it has been since I posted it that it had so few views and zero responses. Because of how popular a series "Seinfeld" was, I thought that I might be able to spark some more conversation by letting people know that this post is about the lady who played Jerry's mother on that show. I mentioned that in the thread, but, if you never opened the thread, you would have no way of knowing! In any event, in between the time that Liz Sheridan played the fiesty nurse on "Gimme a Break!" and the time that she had the recurring role as Mrs. Seinfeld, she played the neighbor on the late eighties sitcom known as "ALF". In any event, there is one thing about that episode of "Gimme a Break!" that really surprised me! The episode was known as the "Emergency" and in addition to Liz, another guest star was Hazel Shermet. For those of you who remember the episode, Hazel was the one who played the busybody on the pay phone. Hazel had a smaller part than Liz, but I liked it a lot! In any event, when the episode aired, Liz was only fifty-two years old and Hazel was sixty-one. I definately thought that the nurse looked older than the lady on the phone. What do other fans think?

I remember seeing her on a talk show. I think she had written a book about her early days and how she had a romance of sorts with Marlon Brando. I always wanted to read that book but never saw it anywhere.

When the last poster uses the terms "her" and "she" I am not sure if this poster is talking about Liz Sheridan or Hazel Shermet. Back in the early part of this millinium Liz Sheridan did write a book, but it was about her romance with the late James Dean. I do not think that there has ever been a book by or about Hazel Shermet, but I am not sure. I have also never heard of her having had any type of romance with Marlon Brando. I do know that her late husband is director and producer Larry Rhine. He did a lot of work on a bunch of different shows including "Gimme a Break!" He passed away back in 2000. In any event, I am glad to see that this page is finely getting some action again!

One thing that I am very interested in doing is stiumlating some more conversation about this fine series! In the last hour, I posted one new message and brought an old thread up to the top. I am really hoping that this will intrigue other fans to tell us how they feel and what they remember. The fact that I am bringing this one up to the top has to do with how popular a sereis "Seinfeld" was. I think that when people see the word "Seinfeld" at the top, they will be curious about what is behind it and will thus open the thread. By the way, I would be very interested in whether the last poster ever finished the biography on Liz Sheridan. If so, what did he or she think of it? I thought that it was a good book even though she did not mention her one and only appearance on "Gimme a Break!" Also, what do other fans think of that episode as well as the two other episode in which Hazel Shermet appeared?

One thing that I will have to admit is that I have, pretty much bleed dry what I can think of to say about this fine sereis! The main reason that I have nothing left to say is that no one else is posting here and so there is nothing to respond to. As simply one more attempt to stimulate some conversation, I am bringing this thread to the top of the page. Let us see what happens! |

I am very happy to see that at least one of my posts generated a response! If the person who responded is reading this message, I would be very interested in knowing what he or she thinks of the episode that I wrote about when I started this thread.
