Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends Wins Emmy! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Both “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends” and “Creature Comforts America” have won Emmy Awards for animation.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced Monday that the two skeins each won the juried award category for individual achievement in animation. Ben Balistreri won for the “Mondo Coco” episode of Cartoon Network’s “Imaginary Friends,” and Teresa Drilling took home an Emmy for CBS’ “Creature Comforts” episode “Self Image, Winging It, Art.”

In the category of costumes for a variety/music program or a special, costume designer Shanna Knecht and costume supervisor Elizabeth Tagg won for their work on the “Ballpark Frank” episode of TBS laffer “Frank TV.”

Keith David took home the prize for his voiceover work on “A Necessary War,” an episode of Ken Burns’ PBS miniseries “The War.”

Juried awards are selected in categories in which there are no nominees, and winners are selected by a blue-ribbon panel of experts in relevant disciplines. Categories may have more than one winner or no winners at all.

Last year, there were 10 honorees in the animation category but none for voiceover.

Well now how cool is that?! I don't watch much anymore, but I used to love this show! Bloo is my favorite character, even though he can be a little obnoxious at times!

I'm still trying to get use to sponge bob. They don't make cartoons like they use to.

I don't like Sponge Bob at all! And although Foster's can be a cute show, it's a little "grown up" for kids, really. My husband said that when he was at one of our neighborhood functions recently, he overheard a father telling his kid that he doesn't like him watching "Foster's". What does that tell you? Sad...

Actually, if he look around, there are a lot of good cartoons that appeal to both kids and adults. The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack immediately comes to mind. lol
