Default WOW! - Swingtown Episode 11 Thoughts

WOW is ALL I have to say right now!-LOL. This episode was amazing - each episode so far has gotten better and better - I thought last week's episode was outstanding, and I thought this was even better. This is like the first episode to have a real cliffhanger, that really makes you not want to wait 2 WEEKS TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS! I swear to god, I'm gonna go balistic!

I actually love how Roger finally let out his feelings. While I do feel bad for Janet, this storyline has really got me attached. I hated it how they made the kiss between Roger and Susan the final scene (and not complete), so I can't wait to hear their little talk afterwards.

The previews were amazing - before I get into that, I'm glad CBS reminded viewers that the next episode is in 2 weeks instead of just saying "on the next episode of Swingtown." Hopefully everyone will remember that. I can't believe Trina is pregnant (SPOILER!) - and of course it happens after their little foursome in the pool-LOL. Now I"m wondering who's the father - I never thought I'd be thinking that in this show, and I can't believe they'd spring a story like this on us with just 2 episodes to go (hopefully in the season). I don't think they can do that and just cancel the series.

Now I wanna start making predictions for the end. If CBS does cancel it, I think Roger and Susan may hook up for good - I'm not sure if I want that to happen, but it's just my prediction. I think Janet will become an independent woman, keeping her job as a single woman. Not sure about Trina and Tom - if Tom's the father, congratulations, but what if Bruce is the father? I can't even imagine past that point! Looking forward to August 29!!!!

^ Totally agree, it was a great episode! Loved the Disco Club scene with the gang dancing. And Susan asking Trina for another pill to pop, wonder if she'll develope a drug problem? As for Trina, wonder if she'll go through with the pregnancy? Its kind of hard to picture her as a conventional mom. lol! And yeah, which one of the guys will end up being the father, man thats hard to predict. I also enjoyed Doug & Bruce teaching Laurie to drive a car. And Janet's new job situation was good. I liked how she had to teach that fanny pinching boss some manners. lol! I wouldn't be surprised if she takes over running the company either. If there's only a couple of episodes left, how will they have time to tie up all the loose ends? They just can't cancel it with so much going on in the story lines.

The club scene was great. The music in this episode was probably the best yet - they had so much of it, in the club, on the radio, wherever they could fit some in they did!

I'm not sure what'll happen with the pregnancy.Wouldn't you just love to see Bruce end up being the father?-LOL. That would definitely cause a huge dilemma, but it would make for great TV. Abortion was a big thing in the 70's - if they are cancelling the show, that would be the route I'd see them taking. If they did bring it back next summer, though, I'd love to see Trina going through her pregnancy on the show.

If Roger does decide to leave Janet for whatever reason, I'd love to see Janet become a huge CEO of a company - she'd do a great job. She needs to get out of that "conventional woman" stuff and make her own living. At the same time, Roger needs to stop flirting with Susan and find a job.

^ So many possibilites for everyone, it does make you wonder how it will play out. Having Bruce as the father would be interesting for sure. And did you hear Tom make the comment about Trina having all the money in the family. Wonder what that was about? I sure hate to wait 2 weeks for the next episode. lol!

There are still so many opened storylines that are yet to be resolved. I'm kind of surprised they dumped this pregnancy storyline on us with only 2 episodes left to go. I'm gonna be lost next Friday night - usually I'll sit down at like 9pm and wait for Swingtown to come on, but with now Swingtown, what am I gonna do with myself??-LOL

As the series is progressing I'm finding it very difficult to like Roger and Susan.
Susan tries to come off as little miss innocent but is a lot more secretive about her feelings then Bruce ever was. Bruce had the porno mags and wanted to swing and she knew about it. He even told her he made out with the red head from work. Roger is a big wus. He is almost positioning his unhappiness on Janet and that he "settled" to be with her.

How it can be narrowed down that Bruce or Tom is the daddy of Trina's potential baby is a little questionable to me since it seems like she slept with a lot of other people besides just those two. I guess even when she was stoned or under some other substance she practiced safe sex except when it was in a swimming pool

The more Rick tends to overcompensate with the ladies I'm still sticking to my original assumption

I liked how Bruce stepped up with Laurie by saying how he felt about her and apologized about her not knowing how he felt. She still acts like she knows it all so I'm hoping she gets crushed from Doug.

Since everyone else is making assumptions I'd love for a Tom/Janet pairing because the blend of the two complete opposites sounds really interesting.

See, I like the Susan/Roger storyline. I never would have expected it, but the fact that they lived next door to each other all these years, and just now after Susan moved away that Roger is starting to fall in love with her. It's really a great storyline for a show like this, and keeps me wanting to watch. On the other hand, I do feel sorry for Janet, but she's a little too much of the perfect housewive - she runs her house like she'd run her business, and how could Roger possibly be happy living like that?

I think Tom's the father, but it could really be anyone. I think the question now is whether or not she'll keep the baby. Abortion was a big thing in the 70's.

The fact that Rick ran out of the house in his underwear when an attractive young girl was obviously coming onto him is proof enough that you are very right!

A Tom/Janet thing would be great, and actually very likely. Just think - if Bruce is the father of Trina's baby, then Bruce and Trina could hook up, which would leave room for Roger and Susan to hook up. With Janet and Tom out of the loop, they could hook up with each other - I'd hate to see it end that way, but it is likely. If the show is cancelled, I'd love to see it end with things the same way they were when the show first began. It would give me a lot more closure I think.

I'm a little skeptical of Roger falling in love with Susan. He seems to be looking for an out in his current relationship and Susan seems like the solution for that. Heck he even named his issue with the shrink, Susan.

I dont think Janet being a perfect housewife is an excuse for Roger since unless he's totally clueless(which he may well be) he knew what he was getting when he married her in the first place. He's grumbling a lot about it now though that's for sure. Susan and Roger are both wishy washy with their mates and probably deserve each other so that's how I'd look at it if they ended up together.

I'm sure abortion is going to come up whether the baby even makes it to term or not it will probably be an option discussed.

Well if Rick swings in the other direction it would help explain about the comments about who wears the pants in the family and the apron. Another reason Roger bugs me is that instead of a united front with Janet with the kid he totally ignores what she said and said the opposite. Too me that was the wrong time to get a backbone.

I don't mind an open-ended ending(since we're getting one anyway) I just hope I'm satisfied with it. That's gonna be a tough one of giving the fans a satisfying ending with a cliffhanger guaranteed and a second season not guaranteed at this point.

Susan and Roger are both very wishwashy. But, both Roger and Janet and Bruce and Susan's marraiges have become dead in a sense - I'm sure all 4 are looking for something new (well, except Janet-LOL). If I were Roger, I wouldn't want to be a in a relationship where the only time I can have sex is on the second Friday of every month.

I'm also hoping the finale gives us closure, whether it's open-ended or not. I"m sure there will be a storyline or 2 that isn't tied up, but that's what you get when you end with a cliffhanger, especially if the show isn't renewed.
