Default Myra

I've really been enjoying watching "Family Matters" on Nick@Nite. However, as the seasons progress, I find myself getting a bit depressed watching Michelle Thomas [Myra] knowing that her life was coming to an end. I watched the show here and there during the final season (I couldn't stand Judyann Elder as Harriette), but I read that during the final season they had to cut many of Michelle's scenes short due to her condition, and honestly, that may keep me from watching the final season altogether because I'm pretty sure that her illness had begun to show in her physical appearance.

I can tell that she was a sweet and wonderful lady, and I want to think of her that way

I have at home a Soap Opera Digest interview with Michelle Thomas from fall 1998 (not long before she passed). I'll have to post it here - she was a beautiful lady inside and out.

Yeah! Please post, I haven't seen her being herself. Only playing in shows.

OK, I'll dig through my old magazines. I know I still have that issue.

She was such a beautiful and talented actress!!
I remember being really surprised when I heard about her death.

Thumbs up

^ I'll be happy to post it here. At the time, Michelle Thomas had joined The Young & The Restless as a singer named Callie. Michelle did all her own singing in the role!

I guess I'll start a new thread for it. I did find the magazine this morning, but it's at home (I'm at work right now, on a break). I'll post it sometime over the weekend.

It sure was a shame, that Michelle Thomas had to die so young. She was no more than twentynine years old. Damn stomach cancer!

She thought the treatment would make her unable to have children. But if she just would die, if she didn't take the treatment, how could she have had children anyway? Maybe she just thought a person that young couldn't die like that, so she didn't take her disease seriously enough.

I know. I read on the Tribute myspace about her, and it says she wanted live, her last days alive she was decorating the hospital room, but died the day before christmas.
