Default Do you buy Tom's claim that Lynette is boss and she always gets the last word?

To me I find it annoying. If she's boss because she makes the final decisions it certaintly hasn't hurt Tom (when you consider that when she gets the last word in it's "Yes, Dear. I'm sorry, You're right and we'll do it your way.") All he has to do is pull you make me insecure in my manhood and she caves and he winds up with his way. If he's bullied and hen pecked I've never seen that work out to someone's advantage as well as it does for the character Tom. It's basically his excuse why he gets to always be seen as right and tends top get his way so much more often than Lynette. He works his supposed victimhood.

Hadn't thought about that but you're right, he does end up getting his way most of the time. I think because Lynette is louder & bossier that you automatically think that she gets her way.

It gets to me at times (Tom playing the Lynette emasculates me card). Just seems to me he uses that as a passive aggressive manipulative strategy to get his way. If he's 'whipped' I've never seen 'whipped' work out as well for anyone. It's tiring to have Lynette painted as some big bad bullying control freak and Tom as innocent victim. Sometimes I feel like when they have a legitimate 50 50 difference of opinion it's automatically painted as Lynette's wrong and Tom's right (as if his desires and what he wants are more important than hers). They can both be stubborn and not want to cave, but it's seen as there Lynette the control freak goes again and Tom gets a that a boy for standing up for himself.
