Cedric The Entertainer said he felt Mac’s loss deeply.

“It’s hard to put into words just how I feel and what a painful loss this is,” he wrote in his statement. “Bernie was a brother, a friend and one of the comic masters of our time. Sharing the marquee with him during the phenomenon of the Kings of Comedy tour, bonded us like family and created a unique moment in comic history marking some of the most meaningful, memorable and fun times of our lives. His comedic approach was his own brand and will definitely stand the test of time.

“The level of his talent always inspired me and other comedians to ‘bring their A-game,’” his statement continued. “I promise you, that you never wanted to be the guy who had to follow Bernie’s set! As a husband and father, he was THE MAN & my thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will truly be missed but so well-remembered.”

You're killing me here, Brian. This one brought tears to my eyes. I guess it's because I'm so emotionally invested in The Steve Harvey Show, watching two episodes a day for the past three months. I feel like I know Harvey and Cedric. So, when I read their tributes, it seems extra sad, or genuine, or something. Hard to explain. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm sad knowing that Steve and Cedric lost their dear friend, if that makes any sense.

I think it does make sense. It's easy to become emotionally vested in the characters on a show. Bernie Mac was a comedic legend and was obviously loved dearly by many.

All these tributes are very touching. It's like Steve and Cedric lost a brother. You can get very attached to actors from TV Shows. I loved watching The Bernie Mac Show. It was a very underrated show that Fox destroyed by moving it around the schedule so much that I could never find it. I wonder if any of his TV family have made any comments about his passing? They seemed to be a tight cast. I also heard that he was going to come back to TV soon in a new show. This is just all so sad. He died far too young.

I remember when John Ritter died and how affected I was. His last movie was Bad Santa which came out after his death. I remember watching that. It was a pretty good movie. Bernie Mac's in that movie too. Now when I watch it I'll see 2 stars that died far too young, both in their 50's. You just never know.
