RODGERS DOESN’T GET WHY KIDS CUSS AT HIM
Posted by Michael David Smith on August 8, 2008, 2:38 p.m.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, now finally assured that Brett Favre won’t be taking his job, says he can handle it if not everyone in Green Bay is on board with the team’s decision to move on.

But what Rodgers doesn’t get is why the fans have to be so mean about it — even little kids.

“I understand it to some point if I put myself into a Favre fanatic’s shoes,” Rodgers said today, per the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “The things I can’t understand, the things I really take personally, is when I’m driving up to the [parking lot] gate and punching in my punch code and somebody says ‘F— you’ to me. That kind of bothers me. Or when a little kid is yelling swear words at me. That kind of gets to me. The boos, they expect a high level of play and they miss Brett Favre. I understand that. But the ‘F— you’ and the little kids saying swear words to me, I don’t understand that.”

This isn’t the first time Rodgers has made comments about Green Bay fans. In June, he told Sports Illustrated, “I don’t feel I need to sell myself to the fans. They need to get on board now or keep their mouths shut.” He later backtracked, somewhat, saying that he cares about the fans in Green Bay.

Today Rodgers said he knows there’s not much he can do about the way the fans will respond to him.

“What can you do?” Rodgers said. “Do people really feel better about themselves after they say stuff like that to me? It’s disappointing. I’m not too dumb, I’m not going to say anything back to them. It’s not my style, it’s against my religion.”

If Rodgers doesn’t get off to a good start this season, tens of thousands of Packers fans will make it their religion to turn up at Lambeau Field and boo him every Sunday.

I feel bad for him because he's in a no win situation. If he doesn't take the Packers to the playoffs it's going to get real bad. lol

I feel bad for him too, because it really isn't his fault. It was Packers management that screwed over Brett Favre.
