Default Has anyone watched The Monkees...

on the Comcast ON DEMAND service that comes with the Digital Cable?

I've noticed that although the episodes are not at regular speed.... (slightly faster) -- the prints on some of the episodes look much better than the ones that Rhino had released (even on the DVDs).

Also they are complete episodes as opposed to the edited syndicated version. -- though they used the 2nd Season opening credits during the first season.

Episodes that looked noticably cleaner to me were:

Monkee VS Machine
One Man Shy
Too Many Girls (which included the uncensored scene of Fern modling a biki to Davy for the so-called Beauty Contest)
Monkee Mother
Monkee Mayor
Card Carrying Red Shoes

as well as a few others....

I'm currently up to Wild Monkees right now.

If anyone has watched these what are your thoughts?

Nope. I have COX On Demand with COX Digital Cable, and it doesn't carry that feature, I'm distressed to report.

I live in Durham, CT and they have the Comcast On Demand on digital cable. Anyways one other thing I noticed was that The Monkees (as were all the other TV show choices distributed by Sony Pictures (the newer logo played at the end of the episodes).

I'm not sure if it was the syndicated version of the shows....they were a tad sped up than Rhino's as well as in the first season they used the 2nd season introduction (or opening credits).

BUT they were complete episodes -- except of course for "A Nice Place To Visit" where they're still missing the tag scene.... but I haven't noticed on any of them replacement music during romps (ex. Midnight Train during the musical romp for "This Just Doesn't Seem To Be My Day" on "The Chaperone" or "For Pete's Sake" during the romp in "I've Got A Little Song Here".

As I've said before, the places where I've seen the picture that was better than Rhino's prints were "Too Many Girls (Davy & Fern)" - Very Noticable ( a nice addition was the unedited scene with Fern showing off her biki to Davy) -- Rhino's copy of that episode looks very "REDISH" looking and a tad faded.

Same with "The Monkees In Texas" -- looks a little "bright" or "blurry"...I don't know how to describe the version on Rhino's sets...but the Comcast version looked much more "colorful" and not as WHITE looking.
