BOB Saget says some of his comic friends went too far by hurling crude jokes and sexual references at Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen during his "roast" Sunday night.
"Anybody who talks about my TV kids - that upsets me the most," Saget told The Post. "I am very protective. I love them very, very much." The roast of Saget, who starred on ABC's "Full House" with the Olsen twins for eight years, will air Aug. 17 on Comedy Central. John Stamos, Saget's former "Full House" co-star, emceed - and took the first swipe at the 22-year-old moguls. "The whole time Bob and I were doing 'Full House,' he was also hosting 'America's Funniest Home Videos,' " he said. "His entire job consisted of saying 'Take a look at this' which is what he used to say to Mary Kate in her dressing room." Afterward, Stamos said he has no idea how the Olsen sisters will react. "I truthfully don't know where their sense of humor lies these days," he said. "I thought some of [the roast] was a little over the top. "They're still my friends," he said of Mary-Kate and Ashley. " I think [the comics] crossed the line a few times." Not that Gilbert Gottfried - who suggested in his routine that Saget seduced his TV kids with chocolate milkshakes - seemed to care. "If you are an Olsen girl, you deserve it," he said. "They're going to just have to go home and cry in their billions of dollars." http://www.nypost.com/seven/08052008...ne__123008.htm |

I don't care for Gottfried, so I didn't expect any more or less from him, but from John Stamos?? I'm glad that Bob came to their defense though!!! |

John is just NOT the same person he was back in the 80's. He seems kind of arrogant . I remember back in 1982 when I "fell in love" with his picture in Tiger Beat Magazine (God, I'm dating myself, aren't I ?), and there was an article where he stated that he would never forget how he got started (which was on General Hospital), and how he was so grateful. Hmm... that didn't last long, did it? Andrea |

I hear it's because of him that there isn't a Full House reunion. I hear that everyone else is pretty much on board, except for him. He's ashamed of his Full House days, but why be ashamed of the role that made you a household name? I understand being afraid of forever living under the title of Uncle Jesse, and possibly being typecast because of it, but I think there's a lot to be said about actors who are grateful to where they got their start. Besides, he's done other stuff that proves he's moved out of the typecast.

if u look up the show's history, you will see that stamos stood up for the twins in the later seasosn when they wanted to get rid of one of them and use only 1 of them to play the roll sicne they got older and the law no longer applied to them, but stamos stood up for them to keep both of them acting the roll.. but stamos was also the reason they had to rush the finale episode together with michelle's accident, and not have another season, which would have moved to the WB for 1 last season b/c of the high production costs.
