The other day I was watching the episode The Treasure Chest and I noticed that he had a bruise on his arm near his elbow. I've heard the stories of his guardians hitting him on the set of Dennis the Menace and have always felt sorry for him. Now I don't know if this particular injury was from the abuse of his guardians or not, but it just reminded me of that E! True hollywood story where I first heard him mention it. The show itself is really good and you want to enjoy it, but it's just really sad to think of what he went through on the set.

It is sad, but probably true with a lot of child actors. I remember Lauren Chapin of Father Knows Best saying her parents made her brothers hit her when she didn't want to do something. Thank goodness there are laws and organizatuions such as Paul Petersen's, A Minor Consideration, that prevents such things now.

According to an interview he did on ET, his aunt/guardian abused him. He was very bitter - not that I can blame him.
