Default Help Remembering a Case...

There's this case that I saw on UM years and years and years ago. My mind is fuzzy on the details. This is what I remember.

The story was about a family which consisted of a Mother and Father and either 3 or 4 kids.

They were a wealthy family.

They moved to a new neighborhood because the Father got a new job... or something like that.

They had only lived in the new house for a few months I think when the whole family was found murdered.

I don't remember there being any suspects in the case.

I'm curious if there are any updates to this.

That's all the details that I can remember.

Does anyone know which case I'm talking about?

I only saw this episode once. I never saw it aired again. But its always stuck in my mind and I'm finally getting around to ask for help.

Hopefully someone can help me here!!!

I'd love to know which case this is!

You sure this was UM? Any ballpark ideas about what year you might have seen it?

That sounds like one i saw recently where the guy rented out his large, ritzy home to a family, yet kept one bedroom for himself. The family told him they were going out of town that weekend, so when he got home, he didn't expect to see them. But then the father of the family tried to kill the guy with a hammer, and the guy busted through a plate glass door to escape. The rest of the family was found bludgeoned.

Was it on UM that you saw it?

Your scenario could be right. My memories of the case are vague.

The things that I do know about the case is that they were rich and a family of 5 or 6. And that they had just moved to the neighborhood when they were murdered.

That sounds like Joe smith, who bludgeoned his wife and step daughters to death. But, could be wrong.

Yeah it was Joe Smith who was the guy with the hammer. I'm not sure if it's who the original poster was looking for though.

Do you remember what year it originally aired on UM?

Do you know of any updates on it?
