I can't believe they have to disrupt 8 Simple Rules and not Sister Sister. I mean, why does a show need double airings? I also wish Gilmore Girls would be placed elsewhere. You have a whole line of comedis and then GG.

If I ran the network, it would be;

1pm - Gilmore Girls
2pm - My Wife and Kids
3pm - The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
4pm - What I Like About You
5pm - 8 Simple Rules
6pm - Grounded for Life

That wouldn't be fair to My Wife & Kids, since it is new. Gilmore Girls does well for them in the evening.

I agree, 6pm-8pm looks so boring now. It was great with 8SR/GFL, I watched that block almost daily. I'm especially szad about 8SR - it's just become so residual that I watch it at 6pm, now I"m really gonna miss it there. IMO, they should have kept it at 6pm, put My Wife and Kids at 7pm, with That 70's Show at 10pm. They could have added another AFV block from 8pm-10pm on Mondays replacing the movie and Thursdays. Too bad I'm not running ABC Family

I'm surprised Sister Sister is still airing so much. I love the show, but I wish they'd put Step by Step on at 1pm instead, or even 2pm replacing Sabrina.

Will Secret Life of the American Teenager be preempted one week? Otherwise it looks like one episode will be skipped on the marathon.

Too bad 8 Simple Rules lost its much better 6:00 time slot to a horrible show like My Wife and Kids. Oh well, what should we expect it is ABC, the dumb network that canceled 8SR, and renewed all those other bomb sitcoms that didn't even last the next season. I wonder if all those great shows they renewed over 8SR like Less Than Perfect, Rodney and Jake in Progress will ever even make it to any kind of syndication. Okay, I won't start that again.

Superbowl, you do realize not all shows last in the same slot on cable for a long time? 8 Simple Rules will be in that slot for 15 straight months (since June 2007). That is a long time. And the show is not going anywhere...it'll still air 3 and 3:30. If you want to watch the show at 6 & 6:30...DVR it or VCR it. Not everything can be fed to you at a certain time. Be happy it is still on. You can be so bitter at times.

catsrule, yes, Teenager will air Fridays at 6 until it ends its run.

Not bitter about the time change. Just used it to bring up once again what an idiot that McPherson is by canceling 8 Simple Rules to start with. Did he realize that if he gave it one more season it could have been in local syndication by now ? How much syndication have those other bombs he renewed over it been in ? Furthermore, I am not so bitter about him canceling it, but it is the three garbage shows he renewed over it that was the most annoying part.

All I know is I have kept my promise for three years now. I only watch two ABC shows, until that idiot McPherson gets out of there. The guy doesn't know a good comedy if he fell over it. He should stick to his dramas. And don't start me with Samantha Who, you know that show that basically can only air after Dancing With The Stars, and keep about 55% of whatever DWTS gives it.

This thread is about ABC Family Channel. The time change of 8 Simple Rules has nothing to do with ABC. So why bring it up here?

McPherson has done a great job with ABC. You know that. You say he doesn't know good comedy, yet you bring in ratings when you mention Samantha Who. You talk about quality, then mention ratings. Stick to one side. There hasn't been that many new sitcoms with ratings the last few years. The one-hour comedy (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Pushing Daisies) has been the it thing lately...and now the hilarious comedy-game show Wipeout, which is the funniest thing I've seen this season.

Gilmore Girls has been there for years. I think it's still their highest rated show (outside of some of their primetime lineup) - and it is a comedy. As far as your own "network" goes, you want EVEN MORE Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air on television???
