Default Tv shows that mention other tv shows

Tv shows where the characters mention another tv show, whether it is another sitcom, drama, game show, soap, etc.

KING OF QUEENS: When Doug is stuck in the attic, he passes time with Carrie by singing theme songs to her and having her guess the show. He does the theme songs to WHAT'S HAPPENING and SANFORD & SON.

KING OF QUEENS: When Doug thinks he is losing his friend, Deacon, because Doug is not black, he begins dreaming and a scene shows Deacon as a pastor who is preaching and begins singing the theme song to THE JEFFERSONS where Doug then joins in.

GOOD TIMES: Several references to THE WALTONS throughout the series.
A reference was made abt SANFORD & SON when Redd Foxx was mentioned.

WHAT'S HAPPENING: One episode had the characters dream/imagine they were characters from THREE'S COMPANY, MORK & MINDY and HAPPY DAYS.

WHAT'S HAPPENING: During one episode where Dee has a date with a boy named Luther who watches a lot of tv, The CAROL BURNETT SHOW, BARETTA, STARSKY & HUTCH and a couple of other shows are mentioned.

THREE'S COMPANY: During a toast, the threesome said, HAPPY DAYS, GOOD TIMES, LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE. Although Jack and Janet were not really naming tv shows, Chrissy said LHOTP because of the mention of good times and happy days.

8 Simple Rules - Did a Threes Company Parody
Boy Meets World - Mentioned Full House in the pilot episode
Fresh Prince - Webster and One Life to Live are mentioned
Family Matters - A Joke is made that Carl looks like the father from the Fresh Prince

The Big Bang Theory - Mentions Scrubs, Star Trek and others throughout its first season.

Friends - All hum the Odd Couple theme in a season 1 episode.

Many more shows but of course, the biggest shows on TV to do that would be SNL and Family Guy!

"Wings" has been mentioned a couple of times on Monk, which is kind of an inside joke, because Tony Shalhoub used to play Antonio on "Wings".

On an episode of "Full House", Jessie and Joey were fighting, and Jessie said "Maybe there are too many dads here. Haven't you ever seen that show My Two Dads? Two is all you need."

THE KING OF QUEENS-once Doug dreamed he was in "THE HONEYMOONERS" with Doug as Ralph, Carrie as Alice, and Deacon as Norton.

QUANTUM LEAP-once when Sam was in 1980, they showed someone watching "MAGNUM, P.I." (and both shows were produced by Donald P. Bellisario)

KING OF QUEENS: During that dream sequence Treky above mentions, they also did THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. With two characters on that soap making an appearance.

Fresh Prince - and old neighbor thought Phil looked like "the dad on Family Matters", and also mentioned The Cosby Show numerous times.

Mad About You - they mentioned TV shows numerous times. In the season 3 finale, they had The Nanny, Saved by the Bell, and Baywatch theme playing in the background. I'm pretty sure they also mentioned how Friends is such an overrated show in one episode.

Roseanne - did the Gilligan's Island parody in the season 7 finale. Also mentioned how they should go over to Saturday Night Live to see when they're ending their sketches (). I know they also mentioned Full House and The Nanny once

Murphy Brown - did the Kramer-crossover with Seinfeld in an episode

And Irene, I loved that scene in Three's Company where they all mention the different TV shows - I just watched in on my DVD a few days ago, and I thought of that immediately as well!

On an episode of Laverne & Shirley, Sea Hunt, Oh Susanna! and
Twilight Zone are mentioned.

Other examples of shows that not only mention but include guest appearances
of characters from other shows include: Gilligan's Land on both ALF and Baywatch. An episode of Boy Meets World featured
three of The Monkees (Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones and Peter Tork) and Dave
Madden of The Partridge Family. Boss Hogg appears on Alice.
And Superman (George Reeves) appeared on I Love Lucy.

L&S also mentioned Hazel in a California episode when they had to clean Sonny(I think)'s apt in a hurry--"Boy, all those years of watching Hazel paid off!"

ALICE: Mel constantly referred to Charlie's Angels. He even wore a shirt of Farrah Fawcett.

ROSEANNE: They did a parody of Giligan's Island and some of the actors appeared as their Gilligan character on the same episode. I remember it was Gilligan, Ginger (Tina Louise!shocker!!!), and the Professor.

On "NewsRadio", Dave mentioned a few times that he loves "Green Acres." He's also mentioned that being forced to read a book for school caused him to miss an entire semester of "Cheers."

On "Ned & Stacey", Ned was watching the television and laughing. He thens says "Wings is such a zany show!" That's an inside joke, because Ned was played by Thomas Haden Church, Lowell from Wings. Ned has also mentioned that he taped a "very special episode" of Boy Meets World.

The Nanny mentioned tons of shows over its 6 seasons - I know they mentioned The Mod Squad and Cagney & Lacey in 1 episode. They mentioned Facts of Life a few times as well.

I'm surprised by that, because networks seem to not like their shows mentioning shows on other networks that were on at the same time.
