We have a Chinese take out restaurant not far from me and they always ask for I.D. and my meal is usually less than $7. It's probably a good thing that they do, What if you lost your credit or debit card in the parking lot and another person tried to get a free meal of you. A few weeks ago, I was at the ATM which is in the same area as the restaurant. I was behind another person and when he finished his transaction, I pulled up and saw that he had left his card in the slot. I took the card and finished what I had to do and chased him down and gave it back to him. I probably could've taken that card and got a free meal at any restaurant that didn't require a pin # or asked for I.D. and besides his photo was on it so yes, It's a good thing they ask for I.D. at some places regardless of how much you're spending.

I was just using that as an example but you're probably correct that a chinese dinner isn't on the high priority list of a credit card thief.

Well, a fella does get hungry after a long day of shopping with a stolen credit card.

So you would agree that it's silly for them to ask for a ID right?-lol

No, like I said, What if someone were trying to use your card? Any place that doesn't ask for I.D. or pin # would be fair game for them to run-up charges on your card until you called the bank and reported it lost or stolen.

I took a coworker's debit/credit card to McDonald's once, and I was wondering what they'd do if they asked for ID or a signature, but they didn't. Shocked me because it seemed so unsecure. I could have stolen that card and gotten me some lunch and no one at McDonald's would have cared. So I don't see a problem with it.

It's easy not to care when your meal was under $10.00-LOL-LOL-LOL_LOL_LOL

Now if you were buying $50.00 worth of Mcdonald food then they may have gotten suspicious-lol

I've done that for my manager at work. I used her card to buy her subway and no one asked for a photo ID or anything.

Hold on, back the trolley up. Your delivery folks there accept credit cards? . That's news to me -then again, I don't get much delivered anymore.

Yeah, I'm just wondering where they'd swipe the card? (Oh god, mental images).
