I was hoping he would come back. He was a great player for us at one time.
The Terry Glenn saga is over. His tenure with the team is over as well. The Cowboys have released the veteran wide receiver, team owner Jerry Jones announced during Friday’s afternoon practice here at training camp in Oxnard, Calif. Jones said he met with Glenn and his agent, Jim Gould over the last few days, including conversations on Friday in attempt to figure out the best solution. “We’ve been working for weeks with Terry’s representative, looking at how might structure something, as it pertains to the preseason, as well as going into the season,” Jones said. “At the end of the day, we’re waiving Terry this afternoon. We’re going on down the road and seeing where we are.” Glenn joined the Cowboys in 2003 and had two 1,000-yard receiving seasons. He missed 15 games last season due to a right knee injury that included two arthroscopic surgeries. Apparently, Glenn had decided to sign the $500,000 waiver the Cowboys initially offered to protect the club from paying his $1.74 million base salary if he suffered another right knee injury. However, the Cowboys have decided to go in another direction. Jones also said progress is being made on signing first-round picks Felix Jones and Mike Jenkins, who obviously missed Friday’s practice. - Nick Eatman __________________ |

Terry Glenn is still a good receiver when he is healthy. The thing is, he isn't always healthy.

Wow what a surprise.
Terry Glenn likely headed to Miami By MAC ENGEL OXNARD, Calif. -- Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terry Glenn is expected to sign with the Miami Dolphins in the next few days, according to two sources. Glenn was waived by the Cowboys on Friday. In Miami, the veteran receiver will be reunited with Bill Parcells and several other former Dallas coaches and players. Parcells, the Dolphins executive vice president for football operations, coached Glenn in New England and in Dallas. Before being released by Dallas, Glenn had not practiced in the off-season because he refused to sign an injury waiver for his surgically repaired right knee. The two sides never came to terms and the Cowboys decided to go in another direction. Owner Jerry Jones hinted last week that he might bring Glenn back, but that appears unlikely now. Glenn missed 15 games last season after two surgeries on his right knee. He saw his first regular-season action against Washington in the final game, but did not have a catch while playing in a limited role. In the Cowboys’ divisional playoff loss to the New York Giants, Glenn caught two passes for 30 yards. Glenn played five seasons in Dallas, including back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2005 and 2006. |
