(This is just a preview for my upcoming fan fic, "Mommy Dearest" [yeah, I know it's a FOL ep title!].. the rest will be around this weekend if I've got time, possible sometime tonight! So tell me what you think)
(The station) (Everyone but Kate doing paperwork, etc as a woman, mid sixties, walks in. She walks into Capt's office just as Jinny looks up for a second. She turns back instantly) Magda: Something wrong, Jinny? Jinny: She looks familiar. Magda: Who? Jinny: That woman. Angela: She looked a little like you, Jinny. Magda: Think it could be... Jinny: No. Angela: It possibly could be.. Jinny: No. Magda: Are you sure? Jinny: Trust me. (gets up) I'll go see, though. But if it's my mother, don't count on me going to go talk to her or whatever. I've been about twenty years without her, I don't want to talk to her now. Magda: All right, Jinny... (Well? I have to go study for a test now [aargh!] but tell me what ya think! thanx!) |

(Here's more!!!! I think I'm going to rename it because I thought up a better title... how does "Twenty Years" sound?)
Angela: She sounds bitter about it. C.D: Wouldn't you if you hadn't seen your mother for twenty years? (Capt's office) Woman: Excuse me... (Kate looks up) Woman: Can you help me find my daughter? Kate: How long has she been missing? Woman: She hasn't been missing. I, uh, left her years ago. Kate: Any photographs of her, anything? Woman: I do have this... (She takes out a photograph from about twenty years before. Kate looks it over) Kate: Well... (Jinny walks in as Kate turns to look at the woman) Kate: One minute, Jinny. (The woman turns around to Jinny) Woman: Jinny? Jinny: M-Mom? Woman: Jinny... Kate: Did I solve your problem? Woman: I don't believe this... (hugs Jinny close - Jinny doesn't like it)... after twenty years... twenty years... Jinny: It's been a long time. Mrs. Exstead: How about going out to dinner? Jinny: I'm kind of busy. Mrs. Exstead: Lunch? Jinny: Mom... (looks at both Kate and her mother, amazed of how long it's been since she said that)... I'm busy. Mrs. Exstead: Tomorrow? Jinny: I don't know. (she leaves.) Mrs. Exstead: It's been a while, hasn't it? Kate: Give her time. She'll be ready to talk to you when she's ready. (Well? Tell me what you think of that better title... thanx!) ------------------ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~**~*~*~* 80s' sitcoms 4-ever, especially Facts of Life!! Tootie: Nat's and my friendship is like a boat. We keep rocking and rocking and... Jo: I'm seasick. Blair: Don't hurt my baby palm! go badminton! #35 rocks! ![]() Jo: So there's face cream, cold cream and high heels in my way. It's a drugstore with no checkout line! |

I think it's all great! I can't wait to read more!
------------------ Blair: I can't believe this! My parents are spending a fortune so I can get frostbite! Nat: It's not that bad. Blair: Maybe not to you, but a Warner is like a delicate souffle. Jo: Yeah, light and empty. Captain: Didn't you ever have a dog, Jinny? Jinny: I had a plant once. It didn't make it. |

(Well, no more tests! No more school for two weeks starting tomorrow!!!! YEAH! [sorry, I just had to say that!!!] More now!! Enjoy!!)
(A few hours later... Jinny's having trouble concentrating) Magda: Something wrong? Jinny: Who said anything about something wrong? Magda: You haven't done any paperwork or anything. Was that - Jinny: Yes, it was. Angela: Are you going to go talk to her later? Jinny: What's there to talk about? C.D: Why she left you. Don't you know? Jinny: I don't know why. For all we know, it could have been us kids. Magda: Then ask her. Jinny: She didn't even leave me her number. (Kate walks in) Kate: It's 555-5743. Jinny: Thanks. Magda: Go call her. (Jinny picks up the phone and dials.) Jinny: Mom? It's me. I'm free for dinner. I'd like to talk. Today. 5:30? Sounds okay... (sighs) I'll make it then. (hangs up) Magda: What'd she say? Jinny: She doesn't know what I want to talk about, but she'll meet me at 5:30 at the bar. C.D.: Doesn't she know you want to talk about... Jinny: No, she doesn't. (An hour later - Jinny waits at the bar for her mother. She looks at her watch again and again, so far she hasn't arrived. An hour passes and she walks off and leaves.) Jinny: She never came. She never came. (The next morning at the station) Jinny: She never came. Magda: Never showed up? Jinny: I waited an hour. C.D.: And she never came? Angela: Maybe she came later, thinking it was at 6:30. Jinny: Oh, no, she didn't do that. She suggested 5:30. She wanted 5:30 instead of any other time. Magda: How about calling her for tonight? Jinny (rolls her eyes): I guess... but tonight she better come because I need some questions answered and I want them answered soon. [Well? There's more, but I have to go now... more later 2night!] ------------------ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~**~*~*~* "When the world never seems to be living up to your dreams, suddenly you're finding out the facts of life are all about you!" <<go Badminton #A!>> [This message has been edited by 80skid (edited 03-08-2001).] |

(Enjoy some more!)
[At the bar - Jinny and Mrs. Exstead are talking] Mrs. Exstead: So, what did you want to talk about? Jinny: You know, uh... Mrs. Exstead: Why I left you? Jinny: How'd you know? Mrs. Exstead: I wouldn't be surprised. Jinny: How come you did? Mrs. Exstead: It's a long story. Jinny: I'm prepared. Mrs. Exstead: You're too young to understand, though. Jinny: Mom, I'm in my thirties. You think I'm too young? Mrs. Exstead: All right, I'll tell you. Jinny: Okay...(braces herself carefully) Mrs. Exstead: Well, it wasn't your fault father's or your brothers', in case you were wondering. Jinny: I was. Mrs. Exstead: Your father and I just simply didn't get along. Jinny: So you ran off because Dad and you didn't get along? Mrs. Exstead: I had planned to tell you all that I was leaving... Jinny: But you decided you'd skip out on that and just leave? Mrs. Exstead: Jinny, please let me finish. Jinny: I can't listen to any more of it. So you and Dad didn't get along and because of that you just left. You left without telling anyone, including your kids. And why'd you come back to see me anyway? Mrs. Exstead: Because you're my daughter and I should spend time with you. Jinny: You could have done that twenty years ago. (She walks off). [Well, how is it? I'll add more tomorrow!] ------------------ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~**~*~*~* "When the world never seems to be living up to your dreams, suddenly you're finding out the facts of life are all about you!" <<go Badminton #A!>> |

(Sorry for the one-day delay, plus I can't work on it tonight... so I'll finish it here!)
(The next morning at the station) Magda: So... did you and your mom talk? Jinny: I'm not going to talk about it. Magda: That's what she said? Jinny: No, that's what I'm saying now. Magda: Did she just mention why she left? Jinny: Yes. Now leave me alone, okay? Magda: Was it that bad to find out? Jinny: For one thing, she tells me she and Dad weren't getting along and she wanted to come home from work or something and tell everyone she was heading out, but she decided not to. Magda: So she just left? Jinny: Yeah. Then I ask her why she visited, and she said something like I wanted to see you because you're my daughter. Magda: Then she could have been with you twenty years ago. Jinny: Exactly. (sighs) I don't think I'm up to working today. Tell Captain I've come down with the flu or something. Magda: It's hurt you that bad? Jinny: Worse. It just hurts to know that if she wanted to be with me so much, she could have just kept living in our house. Magda: I'll tell her. Jinny: And make it sound really convincing. Magda: All right, Jinny. (She leaves. Jinny pulls out an old photograph of her and her mother from years before. She looks at it thoughtfully) Jinny: I love you, Mom. I really do. *~*The End*~* (How'd you like it? i know you might have been predicting a long ending but this was the first that came to my mind! LOL!) |
