Default Is this a mistake?

On last night's episode Carl and Harriett wanted the kids to be more responsable. Carl told Eddie your quarterly premium on your car insurance is 400 dollars I expect you to pay 1/4 and Eddie said $60 and Carl said nice try it is $100.

Question is whe is a male teenager's insurance $1600 a year? Do yout hink that was a little high? I know males have higher premiums when a teenager, but $1600 a year? Didn't Eddie take driver's education for a reduce price in his premium?

When I was Eddie's age I paid $1,100 a year.

Shouldn't that be $1200 instead of $1600? The insurance cost can have many factors, Age of driver, Type of car being driven, Location, etc...

You paid $1100 a year when you were his age.

He was paying $1200 a year. That is only $100 difference. As Charles stated, many factors play a part in what one pays for car insurance. These are some of those factors:

the kind of car you are driving (sports car, truck, sedan)
any accessories on it such as a car alarm
your driving history
if you are a teen
the city you live in / the area you live in
if you qualify for any special discounts such as being a "A" student (my daughter qualified for that)
if you are a smoker (don't ask me but that was a factor for someone I knew)
where you live
if your car is parked in a private driveway and/or garage

Where is your math at? a quarter is 1/4 that mean there is 4 of them in a year and each quarter is 400 meaning 400 times 4 = 1600 a year. where did yuou come up with 1200 a year?

Redo your math 4 quarters in a year times 400 for quarter. A quarter is 25 to make a 100 you need 4 of them 25 times 4 = 100

I would like to know where you got 1200.

Carl said I want you to pay 1/4 of your quarterly statement which is 400 meaning Eddie would have to pay 400 while Carl would have to pay 1200 which = 1600.

Stillo way to much for a beat up car that Eddie and Carl put together when Carl bought it at a Police Acution for 389 dollars.

Did you both seem to forget that episode where Carl bought Eddie that beat old police car ready to fall apart and they repaired it together. No way that you be $1600 a year on insurance even for a kid his age.

^^You're right, I was thinking that each quarter was 4 months but it's 3.

Carl probably made him pay full coverage instead of liability. Full coverage is alot higher than liability insurance.
