Iranian official blames Jews for Tom and Jerry - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

""Tom and Jerry" were created as part of a Jewish plot to depict mice as clean, according to a cultural advisor to the Iranian education ministry.

Professor Hasan Bolkhari is also a member of the Film Council of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the government-run radio and TV service. On Sunday, Iran's Channel 4 covered a film seminar that included a lecture by Bolkhari.

Bolkhari alleged that Hollywood Jews created Tom and Jerry as part of a conspiracy to reverse the dirty image of mice, because Nazis had portrayed Jews as mice.

"The mouse is very clever and smart. Everything he does is so cute. He kicks the poor cat's ass," Bolkhari said in a televised seminar on film that was monitored by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

"Yet this cruelty does not make you despise the mouse. He looks so nice, and he is so clever... This is exactly why some say it was meant to erase this image of mice from the minds of European children, and to show that the mouse is not dirty and has these traits. Unfortunately, we have many such cases in Hollywood shows."

"There is a cartoon that children like. They like it very much, and so do adults -- Tom and Jerry," he told the seminar....

Suggested Bolkhari: "Watch Schindler's List. Every Jew was forced to wear yellow star on his clothing. The Jews were degraded and termed 'dirty mice.' Tom and Jerry was made in order to change the Europeans' perception of mice. One of terms used was 'dirty mice.'

"I'd like to tell you that... It should be noted that mice are very cunning...and dirty."

"Read the history of the Jews in Europe. This ultimately led to Hitler's hatred and resentment. As it turns out, Hitler had behind-the-scenes connections with the Protocols [of the Elders of Zion].

"Tom and Jerry was made in order to display the exact opposite image. If you happen to watch this cartoon tomorrow, bear in mind the points I have just raised, and watch it from this perspective."

I thought Jews had been blamed for everything in history. I was wrong.Now Jews have been blamed for everything in history. And you know, I never knew it was the Jewish Walt Disney Company - must not have had room on the letterheads for the whole thing. And if it's "Jewish Walt Disney", does that imply that there are duplicate Walt Disneys of other faiths? Buddhist Walt Disney? Jehovah's Witness Walt Disney? Amish Walt Disney? (Don't imagine *his* cartoons would be very good...)

oh gosh. i can't believe i'm persian & come from the same culture as these people.
there are so many problems in the government system of the iran, that this doesn't even cover it. they not only mistreat their own people, but the government thinks it has some right from God to kill former Muslims who have converted to Christianity, adulterers, homosexuals, and so many others.
and of course they'll blame the Jews since they hate them & want to wipe them out forever.

First off, Iran is full of **** (and I'll explain later). Second, Hanna-Barbera never made this a malicious cartoon. And third, I'll have to write something about that on the BCDB website.
