I enjoy this one--because it does feel true to life! How often we don't hear from someone and we begin to make assumptions about why--did we hurt their feelings? Did we not invite them enough for dinner? Did we forget that they told us they wouldn't be home? etc. Here Ozzie and Harriet begin to wonder why Dave and June haven't been around or called in almost 2 weeks. They begin plotting on how to found out what the reason is.......such as dropping by with an extra pie on the way to the movie theater, but feeling like they are intruding and making excuses to leave.
I have this one now on 2 sets--don't know which one is the better copy but hey, it's all good. |

That is a good episode because it is so real.
The in-laws who think they must be boring so the kids don't want to come around and visit. They end up doing and talking about the same things everytime. So they think they'll spice it up, it has to be them Dave and June just don't like being around them. My favorite part which is even more real.. The ending, where the parents are still complaing that even if Dave and June were busy they still could have found the time to call and just let them know everything was alright because they worry. And then Harriet's mother calls grilling Ozzie about why she hasn't heard from THEM in such a long time. And worries when she doesn't hear from them. |

Yes this was a very nice ep and I enjoyed it too. It was on the first DVD I ever got. I remember seeing the set in J & R and recalling it had 5 O & H eps I didn't already have. Up to then I only had a VCR, but it was this set that got me to get a DVD player. So this ep has an extra special meaning to me. |

And it is one I can easily re-watch!
![]() Just watched one called "A Letter for Harriet"--I don't care for that one too much. |

This eppy was on ION last night. Haven't watched it in a while. I really love the beginning where Harriet is sitting at a desk, writing her mother a letter. Who does that anymore?
This was back at a time when people actually truly connected and took the time to write letters. That's what I love about this show. The charming little things that life just doesn't have anymore. |

I recently wrote a letter to my mother, I said:
Dear Mom, Let's hear from you more often, even if it's only $50 or $100. LOL. I couldn't resist. |
