Default Heat Sickness

Ever since I was very young I have always felt sick when it gets really hot and humid out. It has been really, really hot and humid these last few days and I have been feeling awful. I felt so bad this morning that I called in sick to work. Does anyone else ever feel sick when the weather gets really hot?

I don't mind some heat. But the humidity really gets to me, and on the days that I do errands, going from cold ac to the heat and humidity of the outside makes me really naseous.

You're not alone, alot of people get sick from the heat. Here in the south, it can really be a problem. My husband used to work outdoors in construction when he was younger and he would get so hot that he would vomit. You have to really be careful in the heat.

Humidity really makes me feel sick too. It's worst when school is in session. I've nearly passed out in the classroom a couple of times. I don't know why they won't put AC in the schools.

Yes, I can totally relate, Mike...I get really sick when I go in and out from AC to heat as well. I get the WORST headaches (even worse than my migraines, which are pretty bad).

Not really. I panic about it a lot, but I think that makes me more sick than the heat itself. As long as I eat and drink water, I'm usually fine physically. Mentally, no.

I also get sick when the summer weather is opressively and torridly hot. I also get winded real easy since just before I was diagnosed with CHF.

If I don't need to go out, I stay at home and get under the a/c. Tomorrow, I have to go out, but I don't think the weather will be as hot as it's been.

One of my nephews had this problem when he was a little boy. He would come over to visit me and as soon as he did, he would get sick, feel nauseated and then throw up.

Children, babies and seniors are especially vulnerable to becoming sick if they are out in the extremely hot weather too long. The best thing for anyone to do is to try to find some cool relief such as a water fountain or an air conditioned place.

A woman had found herself in hot water for leaving her toddler locked in a car in a supermarket parking lot. Luckily, the child was rescued and the mom was arrested for child abandonment, child endangerment, and the child was placed in protective custody.

The inside temp of a vehicle sitting in the baking heat of the sun on a hot summer day can reach up to a whopping 120 degrees Farenheit!!
