Another thread talked about castmembers praying at the dinner table. Said thread mentioned The Real McCoys (which I have never seen, unfortunately
) and The Brady Bunch (as much as I am a fan of the show, I cannot for the life of me remember for sure which episode; was it "Bobby's Hero" about his infatuation with Jesse James?).Which other shows have had castmembers praying? I know The Waltons has. Also Perfect Strangers in the episode "Wild Turkey" (a Thanksgiving episode) in which the cousins were selling turkeys, and Larry thought Jennifer's wedding ring wound up in one of the birds, and they went to the neighbors (who bought one of the turkeys) and led the family in prayer while they searched for the ring, albeit in vain. |

The Dukes (of Hazzard, that is) always prayed at the dinner table. So did the Evans family on Good Times. Let us not forget the Ingalls family on Little House on the Prairie.

Mama's Family when the Reverend came over. I remember prayers at meals on Soul Man and on Thea. I think the Simpsons sometime prayer before meals.

Good Times-Florida would have one of the kids say grace, usually wise guy J.J. would say something funny.

Another side note: not on a sitcom but in the movie Sergeant York, there was a scene at the dinner table, where Gary Cooper says grace, which consisted of simply, "Dear Lord, bless these here vittels". I always liked that! |
