He was born the same year as my paternal grandparents (who passed on in 2000 and 2002). God bless him - may he .

Remember him well for Stu and the sitcom Phyl and Mihky. The final episode of SFT was one of the classiest affairs for a soap sendoff.

I remember as a kid when this show was still on CBS and my mother was so into it. The good ole days.

Those were the good old days indeed, where soaps were actually run by competent people!

Default Larry's voice was well known...

...on radio, and because of the many commercials he announced, as in the "Sam Breakstone" spots of the '70s and '80s {"In his day, Sam Breakstone was one of the most demanding men around [the little dog nips at Sam's heels here]...but if Sam weren't so demanding- his sour cream/cottage cheese wouldn't be so good!"}. I certainly remember him from the short-lived "PHYL & MIKHY" in the summer of 1980 [six episodes], playing Murphy Cross' (Phyl's) father; Rick Lohman (Mikhy) also played his grandson on "SEARCH FOR TOMORROW" at the time. "BABY ON BOARD" was a 1988 CBS sitcom pilot {which aired on their "SUMMER PLAYHOUSE"} that never became a series. Larry never had much opportunity to demonstrate what a good actor he could be in "prime-time", but he was damned good!

THAT'S the way to end a soap. Ryan's Hope's finale was really good, too.
