Default Cases Which Bothered Me

Here are several I heard about that I either never heard the conclusion of, or don't remember:

A trucker took his girlfriend's four-year-old son with him on one of his hauls. On the way he picked up a hitchhiker, drifter, classic unkempt psycho-looking dude. The boy was found with his throat cut, head nearly severed. The trucker says he didn't do it, must have been the hitchhiker. The trucker was taken into custody on suspicion that he either killed the boy or had the hitchhiker do it. This was in the Pacific Northwest, Oregon maybe, in the 80s or 90s. I never heard who, if anyone, was found guilty.

A trucker was driving around neighborhoods looking for young girls (maybe 4-6 years old) to molest. The next day, the girl would have a story her parents took to be a nightmare from hearing stories of child molesting on TV. One or two were taken to doctors and found to be molested. Unlike other such stories, the parents weren't accused. The authorities knew it was a real sicko as he'd made a phone call describing some kids he'd spotted, "three-little doll-babies," of which he was going to "grab me one." Anyone familiar with the case and know if the perv was ever caught?

Parents of seven children discovered their seven-year-old daughter sleeping in the bathtub. She explained someone had gotten into her room and tried to do perverted things to her. The parents laid in wait for the would-be molester to return. The father was a tall, athletic, good-looking fellow who looked very much like Robert Stack in his prime. He caught the intruder and wrestled with him while his wife took pictures. Authorities still refused to believe they hadn't been the ones to molest the child, and all of the couple's minor children were removed and made wards of the state.

wow. thats definately one I hadn't heard. Thats really bizarre. Did they actually apprehend the guy or did he get away even after wrestling with the father?
Something does seem a little odd about the scenario though.

The scenario seems concocted as if to cover something up. I dunno. Can't put my finger on it. I would like to know more. If you know of any websites or links to any information.

It was on Inside Edition or some such program. As I recall, the intruder was identified as a young man who lived nearby, and who climbed in through a second-story window easily accessed by scaling a trellis or carport or such, but the police had already put their foot in it by accusing the parents and felt they had to continue in that direction. I don't know whether the guilty party was actually punished or any restitution was made for splitting the family up. That's one reason it was a case I wondered about.

Anyone know this case, which made big news a few years ago? Someone bought a house and found a mummified body stuffed in a barrel surrounded by grain. The body, of a young, pregnant woman, dated to late 1960s-early 1970s, the same time the deck or addition to the house had been constructed. They contacted the previous owner of the house, who committed suicide before the investigation could proceed. Can you believe him selling the bloody house with the body still there? As I recall, this woman was never identified.

Don't know whether this was on UM which means it was probably another show.

The father of two children, a boy and a girl, had abducted them. The mother said he was abusive and said when interviewed, "This boy would think nothing of slapping his little sister across the face, saying, 'This is what Daddy does to Mommy.'" Anyone recognize this?

The Chris Mader case bothers me. One night while he was driving home, he was shot from a distance and his car ended up crashing into an electrical box. A witness reported having seen a man lurking around the crime scene; it is still unknown if the man was simply a passerby checking it out, or if he was in fact the shooter. Not too long after, a call was placed by a man who didn't sound as if he were reporting the shooting, but rather sounded as if he were inquiring about it. He used a payphone, so therefore, the call couldn't be traced.

Very creepy. The sketch of the man who was lurking around the scene is creepy as well.

Here is another case I heard on TV ONCE and NEVER heard an update.

During the 2004 tsunami in Indonesia, a 4-year-old Swedish boy named Ragnold was ripped from the arms of his parents. They were interviewed on Inside Edition, I believe, saying they didn't want to go home without him but realized they might have to.

There was a similar case at the same time in which the child was found, but with these differences:

--The boy wasn't with parents, but some other caregiver. Ragnold was with both parents.

--The boy's name wasn't Ragnold, while Ragnold's name was Ragnold or something similar.

--The boy was younger than four, so young he was unable to identify himself, but was somehow reunited with family later.

--This boy (I am pretty sure) had light brown hair and Ragnold (I am pretty sure) had blond hair.

I've been unable to find the name Ragnold or anything like it on any list of missing or killed people from Sweden. So many Swedish people chose to vacation in Indonesia that the tsunami caused their country's greatest loss of life since back when they used to fight in wars 300 or 400 years ago! Presumably some of those remains were never found. Just wondering if there was a resolution to this particular story.

Does anyone remember the case of a boy, about the age of Johnny Gosch, and possibly also a newspaper carrier, who was abducted shortly after Johnny Gosch from another area? (Not, I think, the Des Moines paper carrier who disappeared a year or so after Johnny, but around the same time from a different place.) This boy broke free, ran up to two women on the street, and said his name, only to be recaptured and forced into a vehicle by his abductors. Who was this and has anything more been seen or heard of him?

I have seen this case solved on Forensic Files, I believe. The young lady was actually an employee of the owner of the house, where the remains were found. She was identified by a small notebook, which was in her purse, and stuffed into the barrel, along with her body. She had a brief affair with her boss, and as I recall, she was pregnant, and you know the rest! Her mother was located in South America. One bizzare twist to the end of this case is that the man committed suicide (inside a neighbor's van which was parked in the garage)! Imagine coming home to that after a hard day or night at work!

Thanks for the answer. I knew about the suicide when questions started being asked about the discovery, but not that it was in his neighbor's van. Yuk!

A nationally-covered case of a ten-year-old girl who went missing. Very pretty white girl with short dark hair. She came from a terribly neglectful home situation. Mother didn't know who the father was, turned up pregnant after getting drunk. Sent the girl alone to the laundromat hauling laundry in a wagon, and let her hang out with this local weirdo. Local weirdo was questioned after the girl went missing and the girl's brother, several years older, said the weirdo had molested him, but didn't speak up until AFTER his sister kept company with the guy for quite some time, then went missing.

Turns out the guy had spent a long time constructing an entirely secret and hidden dungeon in which he imprisoned this girl--had her chained to the wall with a collar. At the time (this is at least 15 years ago) reports said the girl seemed accepting and not too unhappy. Guess after all the neglect at home even a pervert's attentions didn't seem too bad. Does anyone know whatever became of this girl?

That was Johnny Gosch. Some time after his abduction, there were sightings/signs of him. One such sighting was what you described. Johnny broke free of his captors, rand down the street, and shouted, "My name is John David Gosch. Please help me lady!" to a passerby, but he was whisked away before anything could be done. A dollar bill was found that said "I am alive. Johnny Gosch." It was determined to be Johnny's handwriting. A man who was, as a boy, a victim of child pornography said that Johnny was a victim of the same group, and offered some information to prove it (such as that Johnny stuttered, and that he had taken yoga, which were bits about Johnny that weren't released to the public).

Noreen Gosch, Johnny's mother, claims her son visited her in 1997 and told her how he was abducted into a child pornography/sex ring. Whether that's true or not, or if the man was really Johnny, is anyone's guess. Also, last year (I think) Noreen received some photographs of a boy she believes to be her son; the boy was bound and gagged. I've seen these photos and some others, and I believe they are of Johnny. There are photos of other boys, too.

Some say Johnny is alive and in hiding, some say he is probably dead.

There is a ton of info on the 'net, Noreen's book about Johnny, and some books about the pornography ring.
