Oh No Man Claims He Found a 7-Inch Knife in Sandwich

Link

NEW YORK - A man claims that he was nearly cut when he found a knife baked into the bun of a cold-cut 12-inch sandwich he bought at a Subway restaurant in New York City.

John Agnesini said he knew his lunch didn't taste right. The 27-year-old says he was horrified to find a 7-inch serrated blade in the bread.

Agnesini said it was protruding into the half of the sandwich he was about to start chomping on and that it "could've slashed" the side of his mouth.

Instead, he said he fell ill with "severe stomach issues" for hours after eating. He attributes it to food poisoning from the embedded blade.

Subway restaurants spokesman Kevin Kane said food safety and customer comments are taken "very seriously" and that the company is "investigating the facts."

Default This Story Just Doesn't Add Up

A 7-inch knife in a 6-inch sandwich? How in the hell does one not notice that?

He would also probably have to bite down really hard to get any metal from the knife into his mouth

If it were baked into the bread then the person preparing the sandwich should've seen it when it was cut in half.

Too many holes here to make this believeable.

Apparently he got ill from the handle, The original article made it seem like it was from the blade itself.

I don't believe it either. And how would the handle make him sick? The high temp from baking the bread would kill any germs wouldn't it?

Exactly. That's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this story.

PFFFT!

That's nothing! I got a hack saw in my Starbuck's Non-Fat Latte last week.

Ya gotta come up with better than a 7" blade these days!

When a sub is being made the employee doing so has their hands all over that bun. When the order is given the bun is sliced on one side while being held on the other. How anyone could have missed it at this stage is beyond me.

There's always the chance that the knife used to slice the bun was the one allegedly found in the sandwich which would mean that the employee accidentally? left it there and the handle melted during the toasting process if he indeed ordered it that way.

Finally, The sub is cut in half, rolled up in paper then placed in a bag and again the employee's hands are all over it so how can it go through these stages and not be noticed?

One final thought for now, As you can see in the video he's got his hands all over the knife, I wonder if his are the only fingerprints on it?

My niece used to work at Subways and since I enjoy eating at Subways, seeing how they make those sandwiches, cutting the bread, etc. I find this story unbelievable. No way.

How much you wanna bet he used to work at Subways or he knows someone who worked at Subway and the knife came into play like that.
