Default Who is this?

Does anyone remember a missing child case about a girl that went riding her bike at night time and didnt come home, and then they found her bike but didnt find her. Some neighbor said she had gotten into someones car....

Also, a girl that was going to walk home from the entrance to her moms subdivision and when her mom got home she wasnt there and she went looking for her and she had been hit and killed? Bon Jovi is a friend of the family and he pleaded for info.....

And what about the case about the people who were in the church and a man came in the church and the minister and his wife left the sanctuary to talk to the man who was white and everyone else was black and they heard gunshots and went to the office and the phone lines had been cut? Does anyone else but me remember this? Oh and what about the case about the guy and the girl that were selling the computer and they met a dude at a hotel and he robbed them and killed the girl?

The first case sounds kind of like Tara Calico but that wasn't at night and people reported a suspicious truck but never saw her enter it.

The second case is Katherine Korzilius.

The third case is kind of baffling me.

The last case I dont have alot of info for but my listing for it states:

the manhunt for the murderer of a computer salesman's fiancee in Marietta, Ga calling himself “Tom Johnson”.

there were some nice discussion on here about it though:
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...ht=tom+johnson
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...ht=tom+johnson
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...ht=tom+johnson

the first link doesnt really have any discussion but has a good overview.

The third case is Harold & Thelma Swain. Dennis Perry was arrested and convicted several years later but many people think he is innocent.

First case I'm not sure. Michaela Garecht was abducted from a store by a stranger and her scooter was found outside but it was her friend that saw the abduction. Not sure if thats the one you're talking about as there are a few profiled that loosely fit.

I know that it wasnt Tara Calico. I remember that case well... and i know it wasnt the one where the friend saw her. I want to say it was something like the family came home, and the mom was in the shower and the girl was riding to a friends house and then didnt come back.....

Oh gosh. The Swain case. I don't know why I didn't recognize it by the description. I totally had a different mental image for some reason of what was being described.

Didn't the guy who abducted Keri Lynn Nixon also kidnap a girl named Sarah Wood who was bike riding, but no one saw it? The guy was convicted of murdering both girls.

I thought Lewis Lent was charged with Sarah Wood's murder?

He was. He went on trial for the murder, even though Sara's body has never been found. Lewis Lent was convicted in that case and remains incarcerated to this day.

So Sara was from the same general area but not abducted by the same guy? Did anyone witness her abduction?

The abductions of Keri Nixon and Sara Wood were two separate cases, so the fact that they were both from the state of New York was only a coincidence. I don't know if the actual abduction of Sara was witnessed by anyone.

But here is the Charley Project profile of Sara Anne Wood, which also has some info on Lewis Lent:

i remember the case, i know the woman was killed by hammer blows to the head and she kept screaming which made the attacker keep hitting her, and i remember also that her boyfriend was telling her not to scream and he'll leave and then the attacker hit him aswell....the girl's name was Heather and she had glasses, i think ?

that case always freaked me out and apparently it was one really high priced computer , not a home system but an industrial one...

Yeah, that computer one was weird, and the fact that it was never found! There are only just so many such systems out there. $30,000.00 at the time to do what most home computers would probably do now for $3,000.00 or less.

Everyone involved directly in the affair is now deceased, including Jeremy (Rolfs) and the best known suspect. Although "Tom Johnson" was not officially identified, clues in other cases extremely similar to the attack on Jeremy and Heather Uffelman point to a man named Tom Steeples, and that it wasn't his first murder. Tom Steeples died in 1994.

You may read the story in four parts on the following website. To me, this unsolved mystery is considered solved until proved otherwise.

How sad that Jeremy passed away so tragically and young. This was a loss for both his and Heather's families. Certainly all this should be included on an update.

Since the police has never officially declared that Tom Steeples was involved in the death of Heather Uffelman, I cannot put an update to it.

All I can say is that the details of other robbery-murders similar to the UM case make Tom Steeples a viable suspect in the murder of Heather Uffelman. Since he is deceased and the proofs are insufficient to identify, however, Steeples remain only a suspect.
