Default Moss Beach Ghost/TAPS Investigation - Hoax????

Has anyone else seen the TAPS show on the Moss Beach Distillery? If you haven't seen it, it's definitely worth watching and can be found on their website on the last half of the "Widow's Watch" show. (Hope it's okay to post the link)

http://www.scifi.com/rewind/

Honestly, after watching the show, it's hard to take the case seriously. Granted, the stories could still be true, and many people still claim they are, but there's noway to know now that at least some of it has been debunked. Now, the question is, have the owners been playing tricks on these people for this many years, was everyone in on it, or is there really a "ghost"? I've heard Sylvia Browne is a fake too and honestly she doesn't seem very sincere to me in the UM segment. Could she have looked all that info up before she came to the Distillery to do her "reading"?

Just wondering what everyone else thinks about this.

Sylvia Browne is a complete phony, and that new show (not TAPS but the more recent one, where the kids come off like the Scooby Doo crew) lost all credibility on the second episode when they brought in Ruth Warren. As for those "A Haunting" shows, some cases are real, some fake.

I saw the TAPS episode. I was totally disgusted by the manager that sat there nodding and smiling while they asked him about the set ups.
Truthfully, I think that things that are unexplainable may have happened at Moss Beach, but it seems that they then tried to capitalize on it by setting up some "tricks" to perpetuate the myth. Hard to know why anyone would be that desperate or dumb. I would imagine anyone who worked there would figure it out pretty quickly. I think if I had been there more than twice and went into the ladies room, I am fairly sure I would have known something was up.
Most people expect that when a place is labeled "Haunted" that they will either see something happen, or that if they don't it means that the place isn't haunted.

Oh No

*bump*

Sorry to bump so many months after the last post, but I thought it would be better than starting a new thread.

I watched the Moss Beach episode of UM this evening and it got me thinking about the "ghosts." I did a search on Alma Reed. In case you don't know about her, here is her story:

http://www.mexconnect.com/articles/3...elipe-carrillo

I can find no connection between Alma Reed and Moss Beach. In fact Alma didn't kill herself as reported by UM. Nor can I find a connection between Alma and Mary Ellen Morley. I wonder if anyone ever came forward to report that the information on Alma was incorrect.

I wish I had caught the episode of TAPS.

Every thing I've looked up online today shows that the Moss Beach thing was faked from the beginning. Even on the UM segment, RS says something like, since it's almost halloween, maybe we should be more open minded about the blue lady. It sounded to me like he didn't believe any of it, but in the spirit of the holiday, we should all settle in for a good (fake) ghost story.

And, once all was said and done, it turns out that the lady in blue is actually a big computer in a back room that controls haunted house type gags such as a speaker with fake witchy laughter in the ladies room, a two sided mirror revealing a spooky face just as a puff of cold air blows on you, swinging chandeliers, etc.

When the previous owner was interviewed, she said that she couldn't believe that the lady in blue was still playing tricks on people, all these years after she had sold the place... and she hears reports of all the wacky things the ghostie is doing to people nowadays.

The way she said that gave me the feeling that she couldn't believe the new owners have taken the "haunting" to the next level.

I wish I would have seen that episode of TAPS. I was only able to find a clip of Grant and Jay finding all the set ups and rigs that were in the restaurant, bar, and ladies room. I wonder what the reveal moment was like. Those were some seriously cheesy effects and it probably cost a lot of money to set everything up and make it computer controlled. What a waste.
