Default The Town of Harriet, etc.

I just saw this episode on ION today. It features Ricky singing "I Catch Myself Crying" and "Truck Drivin Man". Paul Hartman from The Andy Griffith Show is also in this show. This is a good one!

If it doesn't get too boring, I would like to try to do a small recap of the show each day, including the songs. If any of you would rather I didn't, please respond! Since many of the episode titles are confusing, maybe some of you could help with correcting them for us.

I checked out the episode list and this is what I believe is the correct title. If anyone has better info, please correct me:

Episode # 422 Ghost Town 12-8-1965

This show must be a 1965-66 episode judging by the songs. I would like to see an episode recap each day.

honeybea, what time did you see the show on ION? The ION channel where I live just shows infomercials and a few religious shows along with the normal ION schedule of shows.

It comes on at 9:30 am, 11:30 am and 11:00 pm Monday through Friday. The guide still says "paid programming". At 10:00 am, it's I Married Joan, 10:30am, My Little Margie, and 11:00 am, The Beverly Hillbillies. I have Time Warner cable and there are different "feeds" for different areas. I don't know exactly how many episodes they show, maybe twenty different ones and they just keep rerunning them. I taped them all long ago, but now I want to organize them with titles and hope to get some help with some of the confusing titles. This is another reason why I hope to do a small recap of the show each day.

I like Ghost Town. It's a color episode too.

Harrietsville. One of the only times Harriet ever gets duped.

It was a fun episode and got Ozzie and Harriet out of the house.

I didn't know it was in color. They show it in black and white on ION. I bet it looks great in color with all the western scenery.

ILUVO&H would you know what season started to be all color shows? I've only got a very few of the color episodes.

The last season, (14) the whole season is in color. Those are the only color episodes.

I've seen a couple of the color episodes on b/w on some dollar dvd's and it bugged me so much. First off 'cause I knew they were really color episodes and I had them in color. And then cause everything just looked so off to me because the color was gone.

Example, take a good look at Harriet's and Clara's lips There makeup looks so odd because of the lack of color. That always bugs me.

Honeybea, I think that would be great to have recaps of your ION episodes. I will help you narrow them down if you need help identifying them, if I can. I have scrounged around the net and beyond and have gotten a few different episode guides, and have some of the episodes committed to memory.

Oh, and ILUVO&H, regarding ''Harrietsville'', LOL. My mom grew up in Harriettsville, Ohio. It is in Noble County in SE Ohio, next to Washington County [Marietta].

Well, I'm surely going to need help with the titles after seeing today's show and I really appreciate it since I'm trying to organize my epiodes as well.

Episode 233 The Other Guy's Girl 4-8-1959 (or the best I can figure out)

While looking for wrapping paper and ribbon, a wrapped Christmas present is found in the box. Everyone tries to figure out where who it came from. The Joyce Maynard character is also featured and I believe she's played by Roberta Shore. Wrong, it's Cheryl Holdridge. I am not sure about this title at all, but it's not Lost Christmas Gift. The reason I think this may be the title is both boys dated the girl and it was mentioned it was four months after Christmas, and this show was dated in Arpril or about 4 months after Christmas.

Another thing with this episode, the closing credits have nothing to do with the show as far as the characters and the real names. This may just be ION and not the show itself.

I think this is the episode that you are describing.

9.29 [303] Ozzie & Harriet:THE PEN AND PENCIL SET 12Apr61
The pen and pencil set is a Christmas gift found among some old items in
the Nelson household. Guest Cast: Cherryl Holdridge (as Joyce Maynard)
David Lweis (as Mr. Maynard) Lucy Prentis (as Mrs. Maynard)

The Pen-and-Pencil Set - The Nelsons are puzzled by a Christmas present which no one seemed to give

That's it for sure! Thanks so much. The character of Joyce Maynard was in a previous show, but I believe she might have been played by someone else. So many of the episodes don't even have descriptions, so this could be hard, for me anyway.

Harrietsville! That's great! Maybe that one was named after Harriet's great aunt Harriet. lol

Look at that you had an O&H connection before you were even born.

Honeybe, they sure aren't showing those episodes in order are they! lol

I think the only part of Pen and Pencil Set I have seen is a box of Christmas items falling out of a closet. That is where my video tape ran out so many years ago. LOL

Way back when, on Disney O&H would air at 11pm, and I'd set my vcr to record it each it night. After all, I was in Middle School back then ! lol

Todays show was David's Almost Inlaws. Episode 283 11-23-1960.
The parents think their children are getting very serious but Ozzie and the girl's father just don't get along at all.

I really enjoy that episode--nice change of pace to see Ozzie really at odds with another guy! LOL
