I've never seen Square Pegs before, but it's actually the show I'm most excited about seeing during Revenge of the 80's week! From what you guys have said on this board & from the short clips I've seen on the commercials, it looks to be a really, really 80's-ish show, which I love. I'll definitely be taping all the episodes!

Cool Franko! Yeah, it was my favorite show when it was on, and I was so bummed when it was canceled! I hope you enjoy the episodes, and come back and tell us what you think!

CBS programming executive Dwayne Hickman said about Square pegs,"It had the 80s kids, but no regular parents."He felt a better teenage oriented show would be one with the 50s-teens as parents of modern kids.(I wonder why CBS didn't pick up Family Ties?)

Well, there were no parents because the show was about the kids and only the kids. I liked it, it was a nice change from all the lets have a meaningful discussion around the dinner table shows. Nobody complained that Cheers didn't have kids regularly. I think Square Pegs should have lasted longer, they never even gave it a chance.
And actually in Family Ties Stephen and Elise were 60's parents as parents to 80's kids. I think Dobie, er, Dwayne meant have Bud and Kitten from Father Knows Best or another show like that to be parents to the 80's kids. Hilarity would certainly ensue! Yeah right. That's why he did that TV movie with all of the 80's teen stars and the 50's teen stars were their teachers, and parents.
