Ok, we're now seven months into 2008. Its time for a new years resolution check-up! What were youirs and did you keep them?
Mine was the cliche "lose weight". i failed miserably. although i've been depressed and often take comfort in food. but with the financial burden soon to be off us i feel renewed. when i got the news about the loan today i jumped on my exercise bike and worked out for an hour. and tomorrow i made an exercise date with my sister. i'm not obese or anything, actually 3 years ago my average weight fluctuated between 105-120 lbs. but i gained weight after getting the birth control shot. it came on so fast by the time i realized what was happening it was out of control. i got the shot the day before thanksgiving and 3 weeks later i could not for the life of me squeeze into the leather pants i wore on thanksgiving day. i've made promise after promise to myself that i'd lose the weight but i keep failing. however, what happened to tim russert scared me. although i'm much younger than him i feel like i'm setting myself up for that fate if i continue down this path. on top of it, diabetes runs in my family. OK...update us on your resolutions. |

My New Year's Resolution was to be a better person. I still have a long ways to go, I'm afraid.

I didn't make on, because I would have failed. I haven't done squat.

I'm doing my best to eat better, and it hasn't always been easy. At least I'm eating breakfast now most of the time, as opposed to not at all.

i'm trying a mcdonalds diet. 2 side salads a day w/ no dressing (i hate dressing) and a mcchicken sandwich. (although i substitute the mcchicken sandwich with most any sensible meal.) and if i get hungry in between i snack on light yogurt or celery and carrots. it was actually working for me but i got depressed and fell off the wagon. i'm going to get back on this diet again and combine it with exercise.
