I watched it...but somehow...I never really enjoyed it as much as other sitcoms....I found Ray terribly annoying...the rest of the family were cool...especially the parents and that brother of Ray were hilarious...and I don´t understand how people don´t like Ray´s wife...Ray was so annyoing...I wonder she didn´t drop him during the series....I know I would have...He had no backbone nothing...lol...but then...that made him a little bit funny.....
So all the ELR Lovers, what made You love this show so much? This is an honest question and I don´t try to put down ELR...I just don´t really understand its success...over here in Germany it never really took off....compared to King Of Queens it was just a side-note |

It reminds me of my own life - especially the Robert/Raymond rivalry. See, I'm tall, still live with my folks (though I pay them rent), and felt that my younger sister got the preferential treatment. She's the one who's married with a kid. So I can really relate to the show and the character of Robert in particular. Like him, I've also had some pretty scary dates.

It's a very funny show. Robert, Raymond, Debra & Marie always crack me up. Frank can be pretty funny too. They take everyday situations and make them funny, so it's easy to relate to the show.

I watch the show for Marie & Frank. They truly became the stars, they are hilarious.I agree that Ray & Debra are a little annoying sometimes. But,I prefer them to Doug & Carrie of The King of Queens though.

They have true characters and true storylines. Like catlover and I'm sure many others, it's like I'm watching my own family.

Because its a funny well-written show with some very witty and wry humor. And GREAT characters - Marie, Frank (geez aloo), the McDougals and their ovaltine-fests, Stephania and her dad, Amy the "nice girl", Robbie and Debra who cooks just like Lisa Douglas LOL.

^ I think we can put Debra in with Lisa Douglas, Thelma Evans Anderson (Good Times) and Thelma Frye (Amen) as far as lousy cooks go.

I watched the show for Peter Boyle, Doris Roberts and Brad Garrett, but especially for Peter Boyle. If I could of retooled this show, It would of been the "Peter Boyle Show" with the parents being the focus of having two dimwit sons.
Frank Barone was hilarious. Raymond and Robert used to piss and moan about their upbringing, but Frank was great and they were..............MARY's? I own several seasons of this show, and have fast forwarded the Ray/Debra bedroom scenes (I know how ya feel Ray, I have to beg for p***y too.) to the scenes with the parents. Brad Garrett is awesome too. Ray and Debra, the central focus of the show were not funny. Ray was lazy, somewhat indifferent towards his children and was a bit ********. Debra (not withstanding those wonderful MILF t!ts) was really a bitch most of the time, but so was Marie. Difference again was that Marie was a funny bitch, Debra wasn't. Probably the closest sitcom land has ever gotten to a real family. Sorry for the fowl language. Have some chicken delight! Senor |

I watch for Robert, Frank and Marie. Yes, Ray and Debra are funny, but I find them both more annoying than funny.
