Default Soda vs. Pop - The Never-Ending Debate

what do you call the carbonated, sweet, high-calorie drink that comes in several different flavors and is often packaged in aluminum cans or plastic bottles that can vary in size?

i call it soda.

I've always call it pop. Though I think Soda sounds better, I still call it pop.

Neither. Here in the South you call it Coke, even if you want Sprite or Dr.Pepper, you say you want a Coke and they ask you which kind.

What you call it depends on where you hail from, am I correct? I know of no one who calls it POP, only soda. I am from So. California.

i'm from the south. the only people i've ever heard call it anything other than soda are some relatives from the north.
